Did 90 cops really arrest alleged dismemberment trio?

By Sasiwan Mokkhasen, Staff Reporter

Three murder suspects are lined up to take photos with Thai authorities Saturday night after they were handed over from Myanmar.

BANGKOK — When three women accused of a horrifying murder were arrested, the names of more than 90 police officers appeared on the arrest report, something a government watchdog found hard to believe.

Transparency activist Srisuwan Janya on Tuesday filed a complaint urging the state ombudsman to investigate whether dozens of policemen listed on the arrest report were actually present at the scene as supposed witnesses.

They weren't there to arrest them. They were there to get in the photo.

This case has proven so much that we already knew. 90 police officers wasting time not doing their job to arrest 3 slight women. No police officers to supervise them when they're in custody.

If they'd put those 90 cops (actually, on the TV I counted way more, including masked guys in full SF regalia) on the roads to enforce driving laws for that day , they would probably have saved a lot of lives.

As to the farce of a circus they put on, have they still not realised how much of a laughing stock to the world they are?  Nope, thought not.  Thais never seem to learn from experience.

Still, they can point to themselves on TV later and puff out their chests.  That's far more important.

Only 90?? Yesterday when they took them for the reenactment to the resort, there were hordes of police, immigration, riot squad for crowd control, swat like guys, uniformed volunteers and even army guys......looked like in hundreds.

Well  there's a precedent, 300+ cops could not capture the red shirt thug as he was being lowered down the outer wall of a hotel and in full view of dozens of media and others.

And the names of more than 90 police officers were entered on more than 90 overtime claims submitted with the arrest report.

Every 90 Police + get 1 to 3 star more +  Higher salary :) Nice when the Polise in Myamar give them back in the Police Truck.

Kick all this  Police 90 + Police man and Women out from the Police they are all lying and want more money and give to the next Boss so they get higher , and more salary . In Europe the Thai Police make shame off them self, look the News.

That is the mentality.  When Joshua Wong arrived in Bangkok, it was reported there there were 10 officers there to greet him and then deport him.  Mr. Wong is 40kgs wet.  90 officers for the deadly vixens is probably the right number.

Total Thai "Me Big Man" Ignorance.

Incredible waste of resources- many more police and military involved than 90 people- plus stopping at 8 spots all over Khon Kaen Province- transporting by private plane from Chiang Rai to Bangkok then to Khon Kaen.  News conferences; photo opportunities and on and on. All that for 3 people accused of murder who had already confessed. But then again- it took 50 police and army to arrest about 10 elderly foreigners playing bridge in Pattaya.

Your right! 90 Cops signed up to have a photo OP with the 3 killers. It's part of the Cops Family Album of Photos, so when they retire

they can show their grandkids all the criminals they arrested (well had photos with) during their career. The RTP rarely goes out and

arrest anyone. They normally wait until the criminal turns themselves in 2-10 years later. Since the Army got the authority to police,

they have been going out and rounding up criminals that the RTP never thought about pursuing. Hopefully the Army will retain

these police powers, so they can continue closing down the gambling dens around Thailand that the RTP have been protecting.

Good Job Army! We're proud of you! Amazing Thailand!

Talk about over kill, must have been some money or other incentive involved.

The second greatest incentive in Thailand; a photo op with someone famous or notorious.  Now there will be 10 photos & 90 different stories of "How I arrested all three on my own."

Gotta love the guy second from right, standing there in his frumpy uniform, wearing a pair of frickin' sandles.

They probably rang him at home and he rushed straight down as is for the photo op.  What about Shorty in the back who will have to go into another photo so he has it to show the kids?

I also thought they turned themselves in to the Burmese cops and were met at the border.

Somebody asked in this forum why they were brought to Bangkok.  I guess they could'nt organize enough transport to take the 90 hero's to the border.

The suspects also lost their masks.

I thought the 4 Burmese guys on the left and the guy wearing the longyi and sandals looked even cooler.
