is it possible to sell a car with the owner overseas?

i have the car and bluebook but the car is registered to my brother who has asked me to sell the car.

he is not planning to visit thailand again any time soon

he would be willing to sign any legal docs to state he authorizes me to sell the car on his behalf if that is possible

Yes you need to prepare letter to authorize someone on behalf of your brother to sell the car.

Good luck with that since Office of Land Transport wants a Residency Certificate issued by Immigration or a notarized Residency starement from you Embassy for a foreigner to sell a motor vehicle here in Thailand 

 

Unless someone can come up with a citation a letter isn't going to cut it 

the people at the toyota dealership seem to think the only way is for my brother to actually come to thailand...

usually a way so will keep searching for info
