Help!!! US Citizen with Ukrainian wife who just got her reentry permit and flight already booked ??

Featured Replies

We are leaving to Thailand this Saturday from LAX. She only has an Ukrainian passport and a US reentry permit/advanced parole.

We are going to be in thailand for 18 days and I know she can only get a visa on arrival for 15 days.

I don't wanna change or cancel the flights.

Can they let her stay 3 days longer or is there a way to extend the 15 days for a few more days??? ???

She could be denied boarding of her flight without a ticket out of the country within 15 days of arrival. If there is a problem with that a one way ticket to a nearby country would overcome that problem.

She could also be denied the application for the visa on arrival without a ticket out of the country within 15 days.

After entering the country she could apply for an extension at immigration, pay the 1900 baht fee and be given 7 days to leave the country after the application is denied.

We live in Los Angeles and the thai embassy is close by. Should we go get a visa tomorrow for her that can let her stay up to 60 days?

That would be the best option. She can get a single entry tourist visa and it would be free since she is from Ukraine.

She would need proof of her status in the US to apply for it.

1 copy of U.S. green card or U.S. visa which permits applicant to reside legally in the U.S. (does not apply to U.S. passport holders)
