BANGKOK, 17 July 2017 (NNT) - The Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) revealed that Thai exports to China in the first 5 months of this year grew 31% compared to the same period a year before.

DITP Director-General Malee Choklumlerd disclosed that the combined value of Thai exports to China recorded during the first 5 months totaled 11.6 billion US dollars.

Major exported products included para rubber, plastic beads, chemical products, and cassava.

Like exports, Thai imports from China in the same period increased 4% to 17 billion US dollars.

China is the world’s second largest economy. Its gross domestic product (GDP) rose 6.9% in the first quarter of this year.

China remains a potential market for Thai exporters and investors.

Thai imports from China only increase 4%. Can't wait to see what the percentage increase will blow out to when the expenditure on HS trains and submarines, tanks and APCs starts cranking up.

The budget deficit is quoted to be 370 billion baht for 2017. Buddha only knows what it will blow out to in years to come as the military continues it's self indulgent spending spree.

By that time the country may well be verging on bankruptcy and then it will be left to others to put Humpty Dumpty back together again.

The advice on Thai 10 year bonds is currently - STRONG SELL.
