Age 62 and bored. Want to return to teaching but Im on a ret ext. 4 years now.

How does this work?

1. My landlord, who is something legal, says just get a job with an un-fussy school. Especially less than 8 hours a week. To all the tut-tutters, I returned p-t for a year or two to a very famous uni WITH a retirement extension. I have already done it once. No need to change anything.

2. My landlord says no problem to take students at home, 2 or 3 a week. The police will ignore, HE says---even if they find out.

3. How to be legal? Give up the retirement extn at CW, pay 1900 for an OA?? Or do I really need to go to Penang? I was told yes you do, but then I was told by someone that he had done it all in 30 minutes at CW. How to get the WP? If I get the OA visa, will the school/uni obtain it? I have four degrees incl. Post Grad, and I worked here 8 years already. Do I have to do a Thai dancing weekend nonsense to be a real teacher again?

Thx

3. You basically would not be able to do anything at immigration. Even you could get one it would not help to get a OA vias since you still could not work.

To apply for a work permit you would have to be employed by a school and show supporting documents from them.

With an extension of stay based upon retirement you probably would not be able to apply for the work permit.

What you would likely have to do is find a school to work for and go out for a single entry non-b visa. Then apply for the work permit and have it issued,
