Internal flights - preferred airline

Featured Replies

I might of asked this before, but cant find the post. I did ask about from LHR to BKK and all booked, so now its internal flight time.  Am looking to book 2 internal flights in November, from BKK to Buriram (to go to Surin to the elephant festival) and then from BKK to Chang Mai

Any recommendations for best airlines?   And is it best to book via normal methods (I use Skyscanner website).  Im assuming you can pay extra for extra weight/baggage allowance?

Thanks all (again....)

whatever one is going were i want to go when i want to go at the lowest price   :-)

Buriram, not much to select from and no flights from Suvarnabhumi (BKK).

DMK (Don Mueang) to Buriram only served by Nok Air and Air Asia.

If it fits your schedule use Air Asia. Nok Air not for me.

BKK to CNX (Chiang Mai)

Tons of flights, one of the major racetracks if incl. Don Mueang.

From BKK served by Bangkok Airways, Thai Airways and Thai Smile.

(recommended in this order but none with exceptional lacks)

You can search all flights with Skyscanner but will (probably) be forwarded to the airline websites and be billed in Thai Baht. Probably: only sure for Thai Smile.

If you are in Thailand when booking there are options to pay cash at convenience stores e.g.

In the end there is no need/advantage through Skyscanner compared to booking at the airline sites.

Overweight baggage can usually be prebooked on the airline sites.

Usually cheaper than paying at the counter.

You won't be on any flight for much over an hour, so it doesn't really matter which airline. The only reason to choose a specific carrier would be if you needed to fly out of Suvarnabhumi, only a few fly from here...

Just go with convenience and price...
