Ministry to probe into death of a boy patient awaiting treatment at state hospital

BANGKOK: -- The Ministry of Public Health has appointed a fact-finding committee to investigate a 15-year-old boy who succumbed to death from stomachache while awaiting his turn to receive treatment at a state hospital in Phetchaburi province.

The ministry’s deputy permanent secretary and spokesman Dr Kiattiphum Wongrajit said the ministry ordered the investigation after receiving a formal report from Phrachomklao Hospital in Phetburi province on the death of the boy from acute stomachache.

He said the investigation would find out whether the treatment was conducted to official standard, or have any other cause.
