webfact Posted July 25, 2017 Share Posted July 25, 2017 Thai students return with 2 gold and 3 silver from 48th International Physics Olympiad BANGKOK, 26 July 2017 (NNT) – Thai students have brought back 2 gold and 3 silver medals from the 48th International Physics Olympiad, which took place in Yogyakarta of Indonesia. Deputy Director of the Institute for the Promotion of Teaching Science and Technology (IPST) Polakrit Krichamaitree welcomed back the students who represented Thailand during the competition. The gold medalists were Tisanaporn Moongmeephruet of Mahidol Wittayanusorn School and Natnicha Merin of Triam Udom Suksa School. The silver medalists were Athikom Wanichkul, Patin Inkaew and Siraphop Klinkajorn of Triam Udom Suksa School. All of the winners and competitors are to receive supportive funding from the government for continued studies abroad until the doctorate level. dcpo Posted July 26, 2017 Share Posted July 26, 2017 Thailand also got three gold medals at the recent international math olympiad. Actually the whole team did well, as they usually do. People who know about the IMO will know that getting gold medals, or even getting any points at all, is very hard, and the team should be proud, as should the physics team in this article.
