People are advised to brace for severe weather condition and possible flash floods from today (July 26) until Friday (July 28), according to a warning issued by the Thai Meteorological Department today.

As of 1am today, the depression moved from Laos to cover the Northeast of Thailand.  Its center was over Nakhon Phanom and Mukdahan provinces, with a maximum speed of about 55 kilomtres per hour.

At 7am, the storm downgraded to an active low pressure over the Northeast, the lower North and the upper Central. It is expected to dissipate by July 28.

As a result, widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy rain is likely to hit the North, Northeast and Central regions.  People are advised to be prepared for severe weather conditions and possible flash floods until July 28.

On July 26, provinces likely to be affected are: Phrae, Uttaradit, Sukhothai, Tak, Kamphaeng Phet, Phitsanulok, Phichit and Phetchabun in the North; Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Udon Thani, Nong Bua Lamphu, Khon Kaen, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Mukdahan, Maha Sarakham, Roi-Et, Kalasin, Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buri Ram, Surin, Si Sa Ket, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen and Ubon Ratchathani in the Northeast; Saraburi, Lop Buri, Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chainat, Sing Buri, Kanchanaburi, Ang Thong and Ratchaburi in the Central; and Prachin Buri, Sa Kaeo, Chon Buri, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat in the East.

Have a look at windyty.com

You can check for different weather effects, rain, wind, temperature, seawaves etc. Zoom in and out for country wide and local areas everywhere.

I worked in Taiwan and the US Navies Pacific Typhoon watch was always worth looking at. A Typhoon on the way meant a few days off of work, so we welcomed them.

Crazy amount of rain in Kalasin today, started raining hard at 4 am, did not stop until well after 5pm. A bit scary actually.

Been raining here (about 25 km east of town) for 30 hours now. 151 mm during the last 24 hours acc. to tmd. Very windy too.

does thailand have anything akin to the weather channel? would really like to know what to look forward to besides  having to see it on thai visa.

NOAA radar is very good. Found it to be quite accurate. Also weather live is decent. Use them both, daily.

Monsoons, Hurricanes, Cyclones have predicted paths. It's not usual to be told in the morning that one arrived last night

Warnings were out days ago (also here in the forum) and I knew well that something is coming.

And it is here (western part of Khon Kaen).

ThaiMet has warned since July 23.
