My mother's name and my middle name is Taew. I asked her what it meant once but she did not know what it meant in English. I read somewhere that it means "rows" but was not sure if this was correct.

If it's spelt เเถว it does mean row, as in the buses with two bench-seats in the back, สองเเถว, meaning two rows.

It's most likely to be แต๋ว which has no meaning as I know of ... Just a nickname.

A Thai person would not generally use 'ae' for transcribing the sound of า, nor 't' to transcribe ด so แต๋ว or เเถว as previously suggested are more likely.
