Truck driver dies on motorway from suspected asthma attack

By The Nation

BANGKOK: -- A truck driver died of a suspected attack on the Bangkok-Chon Buri motorway early Tuesday morning, police said.

The truck driven by Anusorn Wanrob, 58, crashed into a roadside wall of the motorway near a rest area in tambon Bang Wua in Chachoengsao’s Bang Pakong district.

Major Pairoj Prasit, an inspector at the Motorway Police Subdivision, was alerted to the incident at about 5.30am.

Police and rescuers found Anusorn’s body behind the wheel with no physical injuries. His body was taken to Bang Pakong Hospital for the autopsy.

Anusorn’s friend, who was driving a truck behind him when the accident occurred, told police Anusorn’s vehicle swerved before crashing into the wall.

He said Anusorn was discharged from hospital two weeks ago after being admitted for asthma.

Dear God......why medically unfit and allowed to drive a heavy (or any) vehicle until cleared by doc? Probably still be alive now enjoying his grandkids. Thank Christ he didn't take out a bunch of other people.
