Dear TV members,

I have a question in relation to my multiple entry Visa.

I live and work here in Bangkok and my work permit was just renewed in July. My existing multiple entry visa expires on 2 September.

I have just submitted my passport to my HR at the office. I could not submit earlier as I had just returned from a business trip this past weekend. My HR guy said he is in the midst of obtaining some documents from the tax office and that he will be submitting my papers for my visa extension in two weeks time. This is getting me worried as I have to go on another business trip in the last week of August and my return date will be after my multiple entry visa expires (2 Sep). I return on 8 Sep to BKK.

I am told that my passport will be stamped with an "under consideration" stamp and I can travel and return to Bangkok, without any problems. Is this correct?

Do I need any additional documents/stamps on my passport before I travel so immigration at the airport does not harass me?

Appreciate any suggestions.

Thank you!

You will need to get a new re-entry permit (it is not a visa) for the under consideration period that will be valid up the report back date on it. You can get a single re-entry permit for a fee of 1000 baht.

So, I can travel while on the 'under consideration' stamp in my passport.

Yes you can but you need a re-entry permit for it.
