Thaiwrath
Not much down for this fella when they catch him. Best wishes to the young one for a recovery, although it does not sound too hopeful.
Just1Voice
"The driver of the cement truck, which belonged to the Siam City Cement company had fled the scene." Well, of course he did! SOP in Thailand.
LivinginKata
These cement truck drivers drive like crazy men. I suspect they have tight schedules with a load of concrete. I avoid them at all times, just let them overtake and hang back. Sad that one death of mother and 50% chance for son ...

By Thai law he has 24 hours to turn himself into any police station. Could be he was afraid of the wrath of the locals, more likely he just disappears. Itay
Option 1: Stay and face accusation and try to blame irrelevant factors Option 2: Run away, if caught follow option 1 if not caught, join a different company and keep on smiling. Best of luck
LazySlipper
If some guy gets fined only 500 bht for "attempted murder" as in the Vios case... the cement guy will most likely get fined 10 000 bht with a slap on the wrist. Hate these truck drivers who disregard others lives. RIP to the mother and quick recovery to the little one.

Psimbo
Poor woman- one or two seconds later looking at the video she would have been clear of the truck- the hopper at the back caught her. I hope the cops catch him and kick the proverbial out of him. Trucks race along that road as they have just finished a series of bends and are headed for Thepkassatri (yes- I know there are a couple more bends to go). A lot of heavy vehicles are supposedly banned from the road but as usual they don't pay attention.

WhizBang
When a driver flees the scene like this, perhaps the company who owns the vehicle should be held fully accountable for whatever happened, with a significant added penalty because the driver fled the scene.
