Those providing information leading to an arrest would get one-fourth of the fine money as a reward, according to national police chief adviser

What a way to start a blanket social media witch hunt. Leave the public alone with these pathetic reward carrots, do your own dirty work.

Laws like these seriously throw morality into question. 500 baht to wield a knife in a violent road rage incident, 50,000 baht to get someone out for a social drink?

So if every waitress in Thailand asks if you want another beer, they can all be arrested for selling beer?  That is their job!

A menu with photos sells beer.

Many neon signs in and outside bars sell beer.

What's next?  A dry country?

I do believe that its against the law to encourage people to drink, rather than a waitress taking an order .

1 . Can I take your order

2 . Would you like a Chang, special offer now, 3 for 200 Baht

Can you see the difference ?

Haven't the cops nothing better to do?Go catch some criminals and reduce the corruption and do something about all the traffic violations and armed road ragers,,,That's for starters etc,,,

There is a big Police force in Thailand and they are capable of doing more than one thing at a time

This is another example of the sort of thing that makes Thailand look ridiculous to the rest of the world.

It really doesnt .

Thailand has a problem with Thais drinking too much

The Thai gov is trying to stop Thais drinking too much

Setting up a few girls to take the fall for some rich, fat business business owner (s).

This sort of callous use of small-fry dances on the edge of human trafficking and, at least, must breach some industrial relations, morality and regulations.

And the police reinforce the concept: "Bugger the citizens, protect the privileged"  with such enthusiasm.

Every Country has this same problem. You can bring a horse to water but you cannot make him drink. That's up to him!

It's the draconian approach to it causing a rift on the street.

What do you propose, sharia law?
