"Beer pretties" arrested for doing their job - selling beer!

7-11 has signs inviting one to buy beer at certain hours. Does that mean they will arrest all 7 employees?

Too true, and what about the signs and verbal invitations one ( used to?) see on WS promoting alcohol consumption?

the country becomes more and more unBEERable

ThaiBev, or not ThaiBev, that is the question. Whether 'tis noble Sanit toiling and suffering in pursuit of his happiness opposing both his lords, or 'tis his  underling who took up arms unbeknownst  against this sea of trouble... 'Tis hard to tell and harder still not to laugh with a belly aquiver in mirth.

Well, at least all the cheap Charlies who will never buy a round have a good excuse; it's against a 2008 Thai law.

Thanks for reminding me...great.gif.ebead2df03d07205795c53757084d936.gif

I will miss them.

I guess I can ring the bar bell and then claim I can't legally buy the drinks! Sorry, I don't make the rules.

Looks like each district's officials  are tugging the rope in their own interests and directions, with absolutely no national uniformity in enforcing the law!!

I bet she still looks good in prison stripes!

So all the girls standing outside the bars on walking street in Pattaya or all the other bars in Thailand, Nana, cowboy, Patong Phuket are ?

Not promoting beer, or inviting people to beer promotions. So they must all be alright then. And "appropriately attired" of course!

Getting more like the tea party from Alice in Wonderland everyday.

Like most things here - there will be more to this than meets the eye (candy).

Perhaps the owner did not pay the correct 'local taxes', or a competitor wanted to limit is marketing activity.  Whatever was behind it, it will not be a Saudi Religious Police style crack down on dress codes and beer drinking.

I'm sure thier identities are safe & no one will recognise them with thier eyes blacked out.

stupid derailed morality or mafia like business behavior

bad enough anyway

this is today's thailand; ultra-conservativism results in this; just slowly rots and rots until people start saying; 'hey do you remember.....'

Hardcore Criminals!.

But we all know why that is okay :-)

Total waste of taxpayer's money when there are so many more important crimes to solve then this eg. Red Bull heir, dead tourists on Koh Tao etc.

Any pics of the jugs?

Only schooners and pints. Full jugs are only distant dreams

1) Hardy any pay tax. (at least not the legal kind), so really not a lot to waste.

2) Police Officers solving real crimes require effort, skills and even willingness. Very hard to find that.

So this seems to be a good arrest and great police work ;-)

Who cares if it is or not :-D

How come the breweries advertise and nothing happens? Looks again like a law for some and none for others

This country is getting stupider by the day.

The Thais may then consume less beer.

It seems like swinging a sword in public in daylight is a less offence than invite for a beer as long as you not swing it on facebook...;)
