Does anyone have experience with child support calculations and levels in Thailand? Some countries have sophisticated formulas for this or use a percentage of income. Any ballpark figures of what judges have ordered in the case of farang divorces in Thailand?

In this case, both spouses are farang and are on good salaries. This calculation would be for two young children, ages between 5-8. Any guidance or figures would be very helpful. Thank you.

can i suggest working it out between you both if possible, perhaps even share custody if practical, keeping it away from courts and money hungry lawyers would be the best advice anyone could give you, very sad time also for the children, hope it all works out well for all of you

IMHO it's possible these issues would be decided by the family courts of the falang country of origin. Why would a Thai court be interested or have jurisdiction over falang children? Unless they were born here and are considered to be Thai citizens.

I agree with your last post Bazza.  It hadn't registered that they were farang children.  In that case the courts here have no jurisdiction.

Talk to your wife and work something out that is fair so the children are taken care of. If you both think about the children's best interest then you should be able to work things out yourselves.

Thai Courts are competent in this case. Negotiations between parties have failed. The judge will help decide. Can you share examples of what the Thai judges have awarded in child support in cases you know about? Thank you
