Heavy rainfall expected Aug 11-14 in eastern and southwestern regions of the country

BANGKOK, 9 August 2017 (NNT) - Residents in the eastern and southwestern regions of the country are advised to brace for heavy rain between August 11th-14th, while flooding persists in nine provinces.

The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) has reported that heavy rainfall from July 5th to August 8th has affected 44 provinces in total, with nine provinces still experiencing flooding. The nine provinces are Sakon Nakhon, Kalasin, Nakhon Phanom, Roi Et, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen, Ubon Ratchathani, Nong Khai, and Ayutthaya, affecting over 327,000 households.

The DDPM has coordinated with provincial administrations, military divisions, and related officials in providing comprehensive relief to flood-hit regions and is deploying its resources in providing for the wellbeing of the public and to swiftly drain water out of inundated areas.

The Meteorological Department has forecast scattered rainfall throughout the country and heavy rainfall in certain northern areas. Wave height in the Andaman Sea is expected at 1-2 meters.

From August 11th - 14th, residents in the eastern and southwestern regions of the country are advised to brace for heavy rain, while vessels in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand are advised to proceed with caution.

Run around frantically waving both arms in the air whilst raising your legs up to your chest in a fast jogging motion with a wild look in your eyes for say, mmm 5 minutes, then realise that it happens every year, calm down and have a beer

Heavy rain in Rangsit. Large thunderstorm wreaking havoc outside whilst eating my Burger in Mcdonalds in an air conditioned dry, comfortable environment.
