August 10, 20179 yr I've been through 6 different sets of contractors over a few years in Phuket for various building related jobs and I've not found one that I'd invite back for the next job. Now the roof and wall needs fixing again (cracks in concrete, poorly repaired previously etc) and if anyone could recommend a good contractor/firm from their experience I'd be very grateful. Previous contractors have done a rubbish fix that lasts a few months and has all the same problems again and the one good set of contractors we found got greedy over quoting on subsequent jobs. August 10, 20179 yr I've been through about as many as you. The one thing they all had in common was that after a couple of good jobs, their attitude changed for the worse. Either attempted over-charging, a new cavalierly attitude towards time, or a snotty attitude. This contempt of repeat customers is by no means limited to the construction business. I'm on my fifth motorbike mechanic and for the same reason. You've been through six contractors, so, you must know it's a complete crap-shoot out there. I wish you luck.

Yeah unfortunately the exact same problem. They don't seem to realise that there is a lot of money to be made from repeat customers. Sent from my iPhone using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app
August 10, 20179 yr I well know this problem - I could never recommend any of the building crews we hired.

August 12, 20179 yr When we want a new tradesperson, which happens regularly because of their attitude when you give the regular work, they keep putting up their prices and start turning up when they want to instead of supplying a decent service at a reasonable price My wife checks with her friends in the local area who require the same services as we do, they all have the same problems with tradespeople and at least one of them knows someone new to try out Within a few weeks or months the same cycle starts again, they have no idea how to build up a successful business with regular customers and would rather sit on their ass doing nothing until another mug comes along who will pay their new over the top prices and except their terrible service The few decent tradespeople around who do a good job and prices are reasonable (not cheap) are always busy and will only look after you if you are a regular customer and then you have to wait until they can fit you in to their work schedule, which does not work if you have a urgent repair to do, pity there is not a business around with qualified tradespeople who supply a emergency same day service with a call out fee and guaranteed work, there is certainly a opening for one or two Edited August 12, 20179 yr by madmax2
