Going to see few locations in Phuket, for bussiness. I need place wheres lots of foreginers and little developed so less competition. Like Patong is a no cuz many tourists but all is there.

 

Basically my gf does currency exchange business, and wants check Phuket.

 

Best would be wheres big hotels, muay thai camps etc.

 

In Patong theres many already so we late for the train.

 

Got car so will drive around.

Lots of foreigners and little business ...... that'll be the UK.

Probably better of starting a motorbike rental business in Rawai and joining all the other ones with a yard full of unrented motorbikes, you will probably make more money than in the currency exchange business which has a major oversupply of vendors also

I suggest you read the Exchange Control Act (B.E. 2485) and Ministerial Regulation No. 13 (B.E. 2497) issued under the Exchange Control Act (B.E. 2485) first. There is a reason why the banks and the trading arms of large Thai  conglomerates control the market. 

 

Although there are small shops that cater to the foreign workers which allow them to transfer money home, they  are often exploitive in their  service fee charges. They are also subject to extortion and armed robbery. Violent holdups with firearms are not unusual and unless you want to have your girlfriend go to an early grave, it is best to abandon the  notion.

 

A stand alone FX booth ranks right up there with  hair dressing salons, internet shop, restaurants and bars for a quick way to lose one's investment.

Setting your girlfriend up in business with a booth full of cash

or giving her your ATM card and its pin number and asking her to look after it for you

Start a mobile pet groomer truck and forget about money exchange.

Wouldnt a smaller island that doesnt have official currency exchanges be better?

 

 

Sounds like your girlfriend is very good at exchanging YOUR currency into hers.
