Television in Japan, China an S. Korea is more '"diverse" than in Thailand?

What a load of horse shit.
Walk down any soi and the thousands of people you pass do not look anything like those on TV.
Our estate has 36 houses all full of well off Thais - no matter how much the ladies smother themselves in whitening cream they look nothing like those on Thai TV.

I don't see thousands of people when I walk down the Soi. I live in a more rural area.

That said, when I walk down the street in any of the countries I regularly visit I don't see many people that look like the people on TV.

I think it's odd that Thais find the white-skin and straight nose thing so attractive, but they do. That is why the people on TV look like they do.

At our office in Bangkok virtually all the women are fair-skinned, many look good enough to be on TV.

Even when I am up-country at the plant, the women working inside the plant are generally fair-skinned.

Which is it, office in Bangkok or living in a more rural area?

Never go outside Bangkok.

Go to the mall Bang Kapi every now and then - the people there look nothing like those on TV.

What channel do you watch?

I'm watching MOVH now, and you're right. None of the guys at the plant look like Clint Eastwood.

I am curious as to the productivity of you plant - surely not much gets done with the entire workforce rolling around in the aisles due to your stupendous comedic abilities.

I myself am finding it exceedingly difficult to prevent my sides from splitting whilst reading this brilliantly humorous post of yours.

Your are magnificent.

Actually, happy workers are more productive than unhappy workers, but it has been my experience that productivity in Thailand is pretty low.

Had no idea that a real Thai family excludes interracial kids who have succeeded in education and now a beauty pageant. :passifier:

She has a Chinese mother, a Swedish father, spent her first 7-years in Vietnam, spent most of her formative years in Europe and the US, almost her entire family live outside of Thailand.

She's about as Thai as KFC.

And here lies the answer. A lot of Thais love KFC.

.Television is a business, the put the kind of people on that they feel will generate the most revenue.

As most Television channels in Thailand are owned by the military, and the others are told by the military what they can and can't broadcast, you will find that 'they put the kind of people on' which best serve their agenda oh little one.

Most? Which ones? You mean like PBS in the IS or BBC in the U.K.?

I get like 300 channels, that the Government runs a few is of little concern to me young grasshopper

As we are talking about a countries TV channels representing the local population then it's about 80% of Thai TV channels. Not foreign channels though that should be rather obvious, you wouldn't expect El Watan Al Djazairia to be representative of South Korea for example.

Incidentally, there seems to be a lot of channels with foreign programming and Thai commercials and subtitles, are those owned by the military as well or are the part of the 20% the military doesn't own?

Oh what a wicked web we weave...

It's little surprise you are stuck working in an up-counrtry plant when you are unable to understand the simplest of concepts. I'm not wasting my time explaining simple concepts to a grown man who should probably have a better understanding as to how the world works. I have more stimulating things to be doing.

I'm not asking you to explain anything, I am only asking you to provide data that back up the phony statistics you made up.

That you resort to personal attacks and suddenly find yourself too busy to respond is telling, albeit not surprising.
