.Thinking outside the box--Office mate do have a range of adjustable book shelves---this one is just one and they have much nicer (more modern) Range. Other than that I have usually found in Thailand that --buy and pay to adjust, you can extend legs etc on any desk for a much smaller sum than trying to buy a stand up one which is much the same--- they do have some high end chairs in Thailand if you have back problems--(see recovering by motion--mp4) they are XXy.

Last year I got some from officemate, I ordered online  and they delivered to my house, but they have a branch next to Big C South Pattaya that can order in for you too.

The models I had last year has gas lifting mechanism, the desk is only good for keyboard and mouse, I had to put the PC monitor on a separate desk

The current model looks only good for small monitors anyway

Do I really need to specify I need one in Thailand?

I contacted IKEA today and they informed me already that they do have SKARSTA in stock, even if not shown on their online catalogue.

Should be about 10'000 THB seeing the price of BEKANT.

After checking the stock , please refer to the current stock as of today below :

1.Article 802.887.24 SKARSTA table top 160x80 cm white

currently there are 20 pieces in stock.

2.Article 002.887.37 SKARSTA underframe sit/stand 120x160 cm white

currently there are 20 pieces in stock.

Thanks! That's exactly what I'm looking for. I'll give them a call.

Let us know how long you use it before you exchange it for a regular desk. Nothing beats relaxing at the desk with a cup of coffee. I'll bet standing gets old quickly.

I understand that "the good way" to use a stand/sit desk is to alternate short periods of each way. It could be: 1 hour sit, 30 mn stand, 1 hour sit...

That's the reason why the up/down system must be easy and quick to use.

I wonder how many people would end up standing at such a desk. I like to exercise hard and then rest hard at my desk.

Not me. I much rather go to the gym/swimming pool and exercise.

For sure - desk time is relaxation time. It could be dangerous reading this forum while standing up too. LOL.
