12,000 baht for childbirth expense given to each beneficiary

Labor Minister Abhai Chanthanachulaka handed out 12,000 baht for the expenses of childbirth to each beneficiary in accordance with the new privilege introduced by the Social Security Office. This privilege has been effective since January 1st 2007.

Today (Jan 4), Mr. Abhai visited the beneficiaries who gave birth at Rajavithi Hospital and granted each of them 12,000 baht of childbirth expense. He also asked them about the benefits of this new privilege and told them that this financial assistance will cover all the medical costs relating to childbirth. Previously, such financial aids were given to hospitals so they can manage the expenses of their patients. However, the patients can now truly use this privilege.

Mr. Abhai said the beneficiaries can be admitted in any hospital, and they can hand out the receipts to all branches of the Social Security Office in order to receive the money.
