A couple of issues with work permit. I applied in Phuket for work permit on 14 December, was told will take 2 weeks. Asked again today and have been informed will take at least another month. Even for Thailand this sounds very slow.

What is the normal turnaround time for work-permits??

My other issue is I have some consulting work overseas and need to leave in a few days for a week. If I leave do I have to resubmit for work-permit on re-arrival in Thailand or will my existing work permit being processed suffice.

In BKK, it takes 10 days. You can use your existing application, no need to have it resubmitted.
