Lebanese army, Hezbollah announce offensives against Islamic State on Syrian border

BEIRUT (Reuters) - The Lebanese army launched an offensive on Saturday against an Islamic State enclave on the northeastern border with Syria, as the Lebanese Shi'ite group Hezbollah announced an assault on the militants from the Syrian side of the frontier.

LONDON (Reuters) - Physicist Stephen Hawking found himself in a war of words with Britain's Conservative government after he said it had caused a crisis in the state-run National Health Service (NHS) and was leading it towards a profit-making U.S.-style system.

ABUJA (Reuters) - Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari returned home on Saturday from three months of medical leave in Britain where he received treatment for an unspecified ailment.

NEW DELHI/MUMBAI (Reuters) - A train came off the tracks in northern India on Saturday, killing about 20 people and injuring scores more, as carriages slammed into each other, officials said.
