Is it safe to bring my pet cat along?

....to roam free in the farm?

Or will she be snatched for a quick buck and end up on someones plate?

What about predators, like stray dogs and snakes?

Not a bad one...those are cats rounded up from Lumpinee park this weekend and neutered by the government to control stray population.

Not likely to happen to a cat.

Stray dogs are sometimes rounded up and sold for that.

A potential  worry is stray cats fighting with them.

I take it that your cat is not in Thailand yet?  We imported our cat from the UK 2 months ago.  We have made the garden totally enclosed so that she can roam around but cant leave the garden area. If she did escape, I wouldn't put her odds at surviving very high. Too many things around that she doesn't understand.  As it is, she doesn't roam anyway.   She seems very happy here and has adapted her life style to hot conditions.  Food has been an issue but she had adapted to the local tinned stuff. Check out my post on the import process that I posted on the BKK airport forum.  It was a nightmare.

Not likely to be eaten, but if left to roam the farm then very likely to pick up a tick borne disease. Rarely will I see stray dogs chase cats, however, if the cat ends up in a yard of a dog then good luck.
