August 28, 20178 yr I m going to be building a house in Thailand next year and would want to construct my own driveway using paviers on a I Do not want to do unsightly concrete which will crack and look ugly but so far I have only seen cheap concrete type keyed paviers. Does anyone know if/where I can source some 100mm x 50mm paviers like Marshalls driveline? https://www.marshalls.co.uk/homeowners/driveways/driveway-block-paving
August 29, 20178 yr Now theres a blast from my past. I used to work around the corner from the Marshalls yard in Halifax and were regarded as expensive. Block pavers here are somewhat limited though you can get a few different options in places like Global house and SCG. All much of a muchness really but they come in the same sizes, colours are more limited but go and look you may find something akin to what you want.

I was surprised not to have seen any as yet as they are very versatile, easy to lay and easy to maintain. In Holland they use them everywhere for roads. Repair man just has a tool for lifting first one out and a bucket of sand lol. These days they are reasonable price. I will check out when I am in Thailand next but I have no intention to concrete a drive, damn ugly.
August 30, 20178 yr That ugly concrete is much easier for Thais to handle so they prefer it. block pavers need a specific hardore bed, then sand screed and then block splitters to do the edges. Thais will for sure make a complete balls of it becasue they have no idea about wacker plates and dont have the experience for this work. first time you put your car on it, you will have a couple of channel formed. anyway.....blocks at Global vary between 7bt and 15bt for the standard blocks and of course you need 50 per m2

Pretty sure should get cheap aggregate there and then coarse sand and hopefully hire a whacker. I never used block splitters, just used diamond blade in cutter. Would do entire area myself.BTW seen many in UK with channels lol where they did not do substrate right.
