I'm not suggesting that anyone would accept or believe the 'farcical statements being trotted out' because they are really unbelievable. My point is that it is a good outcome for the Junta. You are also quite right that the problem(s) will not go away. However, I do think that it will be harder for the PT or TRT to mobilize without a leader and at the moment nobody is stepping up.

It is extremely easy to get out of Thailand if you are escorted with your security team with suitcases full of cash. just hand a million to each and everyone that stands in the way.....And then you send the rest of your assets in a separate jumbo....

In the 15 years I lived in Pattaya, the Shin family owned and maintained an entire floor, in the building I called home. Numerous times they would slide in with fancy cars in the evening and hang out for a few days to a week. Naturally, when Yingluck was ousted and being hounded, she came to Pattaya. Of course, the rest of the owners kept their mouths shut so we wouldn't have 10,000 Thai's chanting at the entrance.

 

I wouldn't be surprised if she was there now, just hanging out.

Seems like some people in that realm of politics really hate the Shinatra's... Its hard to believe both Taksin and Yingluck are hated... but I find Thai's are very jealous people... when someone likes you for what you do, then they find ways to rid of you... its like this in the teaching world... students love what you do, then some jealous old cow can't stand it and find ways to discredit and kick you out of the school.   I think the Kennedy's had the same problem....

The only place she is hanging out is the Dubai National Bank to see how much her brother stole from the Thai people and to see if there is enough for her also Red shirts in Thailand must be totally gutted by her doing this. Even Hitler stuck it out when he was leader even though he knew he could not win. Starting to wonder who is worse the Junta or these Ratbags The ones i feel sorry for are the Thai people. There is almost no doubt she was "let go". Thai airspace is highly restricted. It is some of the most restricted airspace in the world. There is less than a 1% chance she could have left without being given permission. There is less than a 1% chance she left by land. This is just not the way she rolls. She left by air, in a private jet. How many private jets are there in Thailand? And how hard is it to keep track of them? Not hard at all.

 

Also, when he claims they were not watching her, that is patently false. Of course they were. She was up on charges, for the biggest trial of the decade. The chances of them not watching her were less than zero. She was let go. It was probably decided at the highest levels, that this was the best outcome for all. And now the little man is playing the same inane game of deflection that Trump plays daily. Just say it, and a percent of the people will buy it. Well, this guy does not. And neither do most.

He does sound like Trump.  Blaming the press.   Is the airspace so tight?  I don't see  enough radar to prevent lower level flights from going undetected.   I read fast boat from Koh chang to Cambodia.   Everyone worries about her passport.  You don't think there are ways to get shipments of whatever you want across all the borders to Dubai.  Your joking?

I don't think payment to anyone would be necessary. M Yingluck has many more devoted followers and supporters than her sombre adversary. But I agree, she knew.and I too anxiously await the "judgment." But who is to say that it has not been rewritten in the light of circumstances, albeit in law irrelevant, after the trial. Such are the ways of what is known as the Thai legal system.
