Was always going to get worse after October.

Looks like prolonged civil conflict is now inevitable.

The missus said it's going to kick off after October (She didn't say it quite like that of course)

Maybe just maybe someone higher will order little P to hand the premiership to an interim civilian PM who will govern till the next election. That will avoid a potential conflict.

Prolonged?

You seem to have forgotten just how quickly Sutheps mob dwindled down to a few hundred paid bums.

And it dwindled with no direct opposition.

People are easily taken in by the fake news that surrounded these events. Fact is many of the people who died were not shot by police or military; that armed forces' guns were used can be easily explained by the raids that certain red shirt supporters carried out on military and police stores. You only have to look at the various speeches, evidence (such as u-tube) and so on to see that making martyrs of innocent people was part of the overall Red Shirt strategy. Not a new idea but one that was used here to try and label Abhisit and his cabinet 'murders', whilst avoiding the issue of Thaksin's extra-judicial killings of more than 3000 people during his term in office. Indeed when you organise such a mass occupation and encourage your supporters to violence (of which there is much evidence) then people will die or get hurt as a natural consequence. Only die-hard ideologues supporting the reds refuse to see this and continue to spread the lie about 80 or 90 innocents "being killed on Abhisit's orders" when in fact any dispassionate view would question the truth in such a statement. In these situations it's always best to look behind the headlines. Personally I get fed up of the right-wing myopic farangs who continue to spread these lies on behalf of that would be dictator now resident in Dubai.

" right wing " thats hilarious !

There is no excuse for having ARMED SOLDIERS come to protests. Why can THEY have the guns? Others can have catapults? Maybe if they did not come armed to the teeth, others would not come with guns too.

Are you not aware that at the initial confrontation (10 May2010), the RTA were in riot control mode, most armed with batons and shields. 5 soldiers were killed that night, and now YOU say there is no excuse for armed soldiers.

Go back to your home city, organise a protest which results in the death of 5 security personel and see what the result is.

On 10 April, troops executed an unsuccessful crackdown on protesters at Phan Fah bridge on Ratchadamnoen Road, resulting in 25 deaths (including one Japanese journalist and 5 uniformed soldiers) and over 800 injuries.Troops fired on protesters near Makhawan Rangsan bridge during the afternoon. Later that evening, automatic gunfire, explosives, and tear gas were used in clashes on Khao San Road and Khok Wua intersection. The Erawan Center noted that among the dead protesters were soldiers in disguise. The military claimed that soldiers only used live rounds to defend themselves, and claimed that the military deaths were due to terrorists.

My bad with date confusion. "among the dead protesters were soldiers in disguise" - are you assuming that were orders from the Thai military or part of the protest?

Either way, it does nothing to detract from my position, so I ask you, if 'peaceful protesters" killed 5 uniformed security officers (police, army, national guard) during the protest, what would happen in your home city?

On February 17 last year, the Appeals Court upheld the Criminal Court’s decision to dismiss the suit on the grounds that the defendants did not order the crackdowns as private individuals, but rather as the government leaders

A perfectly logical conclusion to reach after close and considerable examination of all issues surrounding the circumstances.
