BANGKOK: -- The Legal Execution Department plans to auction a 270-seat Airbus plane on September 6 with a starting price of Bt30 million.

Department chief Ruenwadee Suwanmongkol took media members to inspect the aircraft at Bangkok's Don Muang Airport on Thursday. He said it was the first commercial plane that the agency had put on auction.

It was seized in a civil lawsuit filed by law firm Watson Farley and Williams Co Ltd (Thailand) against Asia Connect Airline Co Ltd and executive Sakkarat Chanthraporn.

The aircraft's last trip was from South Korea's Incheon International Airport to Don Muang on January 13, 2016, after which it was impounded, she said.

The successful bidder will also have to pay the Bt17,000 per day aircraft-parking fee, which will accumulate to Bt4 million by September 6.

Why?

Surely that's on those who parked it there.

Thought the government refused pay their German loans again there for a sec.

Umm...no.

Aluminum corrodes but it does not rust. Rust refers only to iron and steel corrosion.Aluminum is actually very prone to corrosion. However, aluminum corrosion is aluminum oxide, a very hard material that actually protects the aluminum from further corrosion.

Thanks for the science lesson, my point was that aluminium doesn't rust after a poster mentioned rust stains.

Sold, to the next high profile Thai that is due in court.............

You could make a house or boutique hotel out of it.

Yeah, but some people are just too serious.

The plane is worth a lot more....startprice is realy very low for this plane even its 30 years..

In my misspent youth I was always game for one of those (an improper screw that is).

A bright type, able to 'obtain' maintenance and parts records would do well to bid and part it out. Depending on hours the engines alone would more than cover the bid and work required to scrap it. Remember the TG Airbus destroyed by one of their MD11's taxiing (well sort it of taxiing) into it? Sold by the then head of TG for $1USD to a post box in Switzerland. Engines were defined in the tender, however were not the ones on the aircraft at the time, but two freshly overhauled ones. Baaaaaaargain I thought. Transparent process of course.....LOL

That is the Thai way of thinking.

.

Normally it is in the starting price

What happened to the plane that was seized in Germany some time ago?

When I saw the 30 million tag I thought I might go for it, but paying a parking ticket for that loser convinced me my money would be better spent in my local!

With no relief in sight for immigration times at Don Muang, why not offer it as a hotel for those that cannot clear immigration in the next 6-7 hours. Sarchasm alert

They took their plane - why would the previous owners pay their parking tickets?

I would like to know what the mileage is and are there any interior shots? Also, when was the oil changed last?

Well suited for a Museum of Technology? :whistling:
