Two year old drowns after playing in his dad's pick-up

A two year old boy drowned yesterday after his father's pick-up rolled into a lake at their house.

Thanakrit was playing in the Isuzu with a five year old friend who managed to jump clear as the vehicle entered the water at their property in Wang Kai Theun sub-district of Han Kha.

His father was out at work at the time.

Thanakrit was supposed to have been looked after by older relatives.

Medics who rushed to the scene were unable to rescue the boy in time as he was under 2 meters of water. They used a backhoe and chain to haul the Chainat registered vehicle out.

Frantic efforts to revive the boy failed and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police warned the public about the perils of allowing young children to play in vehicles by themselves.

Sad but true. Just a tiny bit of common sense would have prevented this tragedy.

Stop the Thai bashing......kids get run over on a regular basis (not drowned) and usually twice...once when mom or dad goes "shit I've run reversed over the kid" and the second time when they drive forwards and run over their kid again due to panic and not realising what they've done.

 

Seen it happen too often. Kid   may have survived the first ...but not he second assault.

What world do you live in where you regularly see parents run over their own children twice?

Australia mate.....most people park there cars facing up the drive way

Reverse out....run over a kid...shit themselves.pull forwards and run over their kid again
