WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A convoy of Islamic State fighters and their families remains in the Syrian desert after turning back from the Iraqi border, the U.S.-led coalition said on Friday.

The coalition said in a statement that it has asked Russia to tell the Syrian government that the coalition will not allow the convoy of 17 buses to move further east to the Iraqi border.

The Syrian army and Lebanon's Hezbollah group gave safe passage to the jihadists after they surrendered their enclave on Syria's border with Lebanon. The U.S.-led coalition says it was not a party to the deal.

Allow them to head for the border with Jordan. Am sure that the family of the airforce pilot could suggest a suitable hot welcome for them.

Jordan has confirmed the death of pilot Moaz al-Kasasbeh after a video published online by Islamic State (IS) claimed to show him being burned alive.

If they know where these savages are, why aren't they bombing them back to the stone age where they clearly belong.

Now it's the Syrians to tell the we don't want you back. Have a nice day.
