  1. Frozen state pensions are a bummer but getting a extra few pounds on my massive 131 GBP a week pension wouldn't be enough to switch countries. Maybe if i was just retiring i would opt for the Philippines but it is along way from anywhere and i doubt any cheaper than Thailand. If i moved anywhere it would be Cambodia.
  2. It was a joke but i have no doubt they will see this as an easy way to increase income in the future as they have in western countries.
  3. Because soon it will be increased to 13,500
  4. The guy is obviously renting under 30 days that's why he is making such a fuss about it. Needs to be booted out.
  5. Of course it's their business. They are there to protect the co-owners interests from rogue landlords.
  6. Why don't you want to give her these documents, unless you are breaking the law and renting for under 30 days. It is good she is trying to protect other co-owners/tenants.
  7. When i did i short international trip last year i had to do a TM30 at Jomtien upon return. No big deal unless you are stupid enough to use an agent then sure they will charge you for the service.
  8. Those tour buses are a real PITA, they cause many of the traffic problems around Pattaya. As for baht buses i never have a problem. Apart of Christmas/New Year i don't think i ever wait more than 5 minutes. One of the best things about Pattaya, quick, cheap transport anywhere in the (main part of) town.
  9. I bet there is no one at the southern end of Jomtien beach, where they extended the beach. Not a single tree for shade and a roasting hot 60 yard walk to the sea.
  10. Long Covid, the new bad back to ensure you get benefits for life.
  11. I would disagree. I would consider the dual carriageway to be the "main road" and thus have right of way. Anyone entering from the minor road over the railway line should give way. In any event i always proceed with great caution at that intersection and would never cross unless the way was clear.
  12. That's not the point. He was on the correct left side of the road. It is up to the Merc driver to ensure it is safe to turn from the right lane. If he had looked he must have seen the bike coming.
