Thailand Brit murder suspects 'still waiting' on evidence review

If any semblance of fairness, justice, civility, human rights, or even the rule of law for goodness sake, interferes in any way with this case, it would be a terrible, terrible day for Thailand. I hold Thailand with the utmost reverence. and earnestly believe that the powers that be, the institutions per se will always aspire to do what is right for the man in the street, (and his blind, armless, legless stolen and trafficked prop of a begging infant). Thailand has the highest standards to adhere to, (<insert>highest standards of hypocrisy, corruption, nepotism and base criminality of pretty well any country in the world</end>). It is what makes Thailand great. I would be mortified if Thailand did the right thing. It just wouldn't be .... right. As Plato sagely intoned, "Justice, schmustice"

AleG said and I quote...

'F- One of them was caught when trying to flee the island.'

Yet another total lie.

Some people like to make up their own "facts"!

Some people, that being berybert and you, should learn not to be opinionated from a position of ignorance. It casts you both in a very bad light.

"While this was going on another team of police officers arrested the third man at a Surat Thani municipal pier after it was discovered that he had boarded a boat and left Koh Tao Island late last night."

If I remember correctly, it was Win Zao the one that tried to flee.

So now then, who was lying?

Can I ask who you are quoting ? Oh don't bother I clicked on the link, it's a Thai Visa thread that has no quotes from anyone. So you are now making up quotes to use to argue your point.

Now lets look into this a bit better. The guy arrested at the pier, you know the one ? the one who was also in the CCTV footage of the guys buying cigarettes in the shop, remember those 3 he was the one with blond hair same as the hair found at the scene. Now sadly you are taking this as gospel and quoting it. Would you like to point out which one of the 3 guys in the CCTV footage has blond hair ? They all seem to have black hair as far as I recall.

We also know that the guy arrested in Surat Thani was working in a bar or hotel there and had been there for a few days. So far from fleeing he was actually working and had been for a while.

post-227968-0-39662700-1433184004_thumb. Which one is blond

Feel free to post some more of your made up bull, maybe you can even find a picture of old blondy in the shop.

Just before I forget according to the report you are quoting from 3 people where arrested and admitted to the murders, any news on the 3rd one ?

That still 'grab' from the CCTV is the day before the murders. It's 6 hours prior, for kryssache. So, we've got 3 boys riding a motobike, and that proves.....? ....it proves that 3 boys were on a motorbike 6 hours prior to the crime, and not much else. Oh, not wearing helmets. So now the cops can also bust 'em for being 3 on a bike and not wearing helmets. Oh, how about busing them for not using a turn signal to make a left turn.

Meanwhile, there are the several CCTV videos of 'running man' taken within minutes of the crime, very near the crime scene. For over a week, police were sure it was a particular young man, and were looking for him, but he was hiding. When found, his lawyer waved around a couple grainy b&w photos, so the young man was let off scot free, never to be looked at again as a suspect. The police have never announced, since then, that the man was not 'running man'. The general public is supposed to assume that, because the man was let off the hook.

In Thailand, a farang can get thrown in jail and told to pay 3 million baht (or spend the next 20 years in jail) for contributing to a motorbike crash which resulted in a few bruises. But a Thai man (who is well-connected and has a rich daddy) who strongly appears to have been involved in a double murder - can get off with nary a minute behind bars, no mention of a fine, no further questions, and no chance of ever being investigated in the future. From the moment his high priced lawyer waved the two B&W photos to the press corps, the Thai man was permanently free and clear.

To those That believe these two men did this. Am I to believe that these two small framed men on some sort of randomly enduced psychotic rage (that both Of them experienced simultaneously) were able to subdue and rape Hannah while at the same time managed to beat to death the 190 cm tall, fit and young David Miller? I am having an extremely hard time believing that is the way it went. Not to mention the complete shambles of a police 'investigation' that followed.

Yes, he was big, they are small, so?

I suggest an experiment to help you understand things better, ask a child to have a go at your head, from behind, with a hoe; as hard as he can muster.

But before please ask a next-of-kin to come back to us with the results since I don't think they have invented an online Ouija board yet.

As for Whiteridge you, or anyone else that wasn't there, don't know how she reacted or how was she was subdued. It takes about two seconds to come up with ways that could have played out, for example one blow to Miller from behind, knocking him out immediately followed by another to Whiteridge knocking her out too, But it seems that you are limiting yourself to scenarios that don't make sense in order to reach the conclusion that it couldn't possibly had been the two Burmese; in other words, tailoring your premises so that they lead to the conclusion you selected beforehand.

It's pretty well documented from cuts and bruises and David's hands that he fought with his attackers. I think you're just trolling for the sake of it. But anyway I'm interested to know how you think this played out. Please factor in the wounds to Davids hands as their is pictorial evidence of this.

If there was ever a time that I would applaud some old fashioned bullying then this would be it.. GB should be saying very simply, "you will do this right, 2 of our citizens have been murdered and we want the real culprits punished",,

Then give Thailand a very clear "or else"s

The trial starts in about 5 weeks and that will end the prognostications and handicapping.Thankfully.

The judge apparently said the DNA evidence can be re-investigated on the day the trial commences, in July. No matter that the (same?) judge told the defense (and then reneged) the DNA could be looked at, starting in April. Re-testing and taking another look as such evidence can be time consuming - weeks or months. Meanwhile, when the trial starts, it's likely DNA will be one of the first issues the prosecution will bring up. What will everyone, including the judge, have to base DNA findings on? Only what was quickly asserted by RTP in October '14. Thus far, that's the only data that's available. Brit experts aren't showing anything. Thai experts who were supposed to get to start working in April can't show anything, because the judge won't let them. This is shaping up to be a grossly unfair trial, and the world's press (and many concerned folks) are watching.

Will the opening of trial end 'prognostications and handicapping', as JLCrab asserts? No. It will instead fan the flames. Don't be surprised when hundreds of posters - write thousands of posts, nearly all of whom claiming the B2 are being unfairly railroaded to conviction. Those posts won't only be on T.Visa, but will be all over social media and newspapers. If Thailand wants awful ww publicity,(for its justice system and for tourism) then its officials are doing everything perfectly.

Talk about taking 2 scapegoats to the slaughterhouse ....bah.gif What a disgrace this whole shamble has been for Thailand and - hopefully - will be for a long time after B2 are found "guilty" by the so called Justice system crazy.gif

The sentence "A Thai would never do that" will stay on forever and well deserved it is ...

RTP call their investigation "Perfect" which only show all to well what is going on here sick.gif

For the fools that still visit Death Island of Koh Tao, remember that the guy you are drinking with in the bar could be the real killer of David and Hannah and he is most likely to commit the crime again - only a matter of time before this psycho(s) go crazy on other tourists ...

That ain't prognostication & handicapping which takes place before the event. I expect there will be loads of courtroom analysis claiming the B2 are being railroaded whether they are or not.

Why does being in Surat Thani pier mean he was fleeing? I live on an island and going to the mainland is a something that needs to be done as island groceries etc are double the price.

Important to me and I imagine very pertinent to Burmese immigrants trying to save money.

Oh, just a coincidence then. Add that to the coincidence that it was a couple days after they had their DNA samples taken, a day or so after the police announced the imminent arrest of the suspects and the biggest coincidence of all that those two men, out of the entire population of Koh Tao that were "framed" to be "scapegoats" by the police happened, just happened to had "found" David Miller's phone on the night of the murders, a phone that was found after their arrest.

Yep, all a series of unfortunate coincidences, sure, right. rolleyes.gif

And I believe that there is also some controversy over "the phone" that was coincidentally "found" next to their house? whistling.gif , and also some controversy over the bloodied clothing that the prosecution seem anxious to deny the defence team access to? whistling.gif

From the BBC link in canopus's comment #1

"Thai police have described their investigation as "perfect", despite failing to control the crime scene and the flurry of conflicting police statements issued in the first weeks of the investigation, our correspondent says."

I remember the pictures of the crime scene with heaps of people around there, police and non-police. The police statement about just having found a victim's cell pnone where it already showed on a police desk from days before. The investigation is only "perfect" as follow-up on the famous statement "Thai person could not do such a thing".

How about that photo of Mon (?) stepping over the police tape? I'll bet he didn't expect someone to snap a pic of that, or maybe he just didn't care.

Has the trial already been here and gone and evidence / testimony been ruled on? Because I think until then, nothing has been PROVEN.

It is an interesting why some people have such a hatred for these two men in custody. The few supporters of this "investigation" on here have shown their bias and prejudice for quite some time now. Really a very sad state of affairs to thrive on the misery of others.....

Police questioned why Wiraphan’s son Warot, 22 quickly disappeared from the island shortly after the murders however he stated that his son was studying at a university in Bangkok and he was returning to study, not running as the police said.

They are also consulting lawyers to consider legal action for such allegations by the police that they were involved

Mark Kent is mentioned at the bottom of the press release quoted as saying he was happy with how things were going. when asked on twitter if this was the case he said "NO"

Strangely enough it was either you or jd who posted a link which mentioned one of the guys working on Surat Thani for a number of days before he was arrested.

Coming from you, it's heartening, because you reply most vehemently to the posts (by whomever) which ring the most true and which specify how the RTP investigation purposefully tries to shield the millionaire H's people while concurrently nail the impoverished scapegoats. The squeaky wheel gets the most oil. In sum: if I get a raging response from you or JD, then I know I've hit a nerve of truth.

It is normal for the Police, unfortunately, to make a mess of the crime scene - not to destroy evidence - but because they don't care about it too much.

Once the Police have chosen their "suspects" - regardless if they are even possibly guilty - it is very difficult to suggest to the Police that "it could have been someone else."

One just meets a brick wall.

Defence teams are ignored for the main part. If a member of the appointed Defence team interviews witnesses they are told by the Police to stop - because ALL witnesses are Prosecution Witnesses - automatically.

Critical evidence is withheld until the Trial begins - literally in the Court room when the evidence is presented and can no longer be withheld.

Any and all defence lawyers argue that this ploy is to prevent the Defence from preparing a case.

When asked by the Court does the Defence wish to rebut this evidence and the Defence say that the Police denied them access to it - it is marked down against them and innocent people go to jail.

What I can say is that it makes the life of grossly incompetent investigating officers more comfortable.

Hopefully the close attention of the International Media and Rights Groups will help to shine a true light on this case.

If the Police have built a case to frame these suspects because 'there were people of influence to protect" or because they are just incompetent then let it be shown to the whole world - not just to save a couple of potentially innocent lives but to bring into total disrepute the normal standards of the Thai Police.

I wish you posted this about 8 months ago, every time the "No Thai would do this" trolls started up their confuse and obfuscate routine we could just reply by quoting this post. Better late than never though!

No, there were indications that he may have fought with his attackers. Not the same, is it?

Aleg

Can you provide a link for timing of their dna being taken

Why don't you ask one of the armchair detectives claiming that the photo showing at least one of them in line to have samples taken proves (beyond any reasonable doubt) that they were tested and cleared before they were arrested? I'm not going to waste time looking for the date of that photo all over again so it can be ignored for the nth time.

Hmmm... I know you're a busy man AleG and so rather than you waste your time looking for the date at least 2 of the Burmese were tested I've done the looking for you. No need to thank me though - let's just say you owe me one... thumbsup.gif

23rd of September according to this report:

And here are some pics showing 2 of the 3 in the line to be tested. I've circled a few recurring faces for reference.

I think Mr. AleG would save himself a lot of time and aggravation (all that calling others stupid must really work a guy up!) and create his own facepalm page or website, with all the evidence demonstrating beyond a shadow of a doubt that these two guys killed David and Hannah. I'm sure JDinAsia et al will gladly supply any overlooked incontrovertible proofs to further bolster the case. Then the other 99.9% of people following the case can check it out and judge for ourselves. That would save everyone time and energy.

Don't forget to post the URL.

Win Zaw, the one the fled the island and was caught in Surat, Thani looks worried. But I'm not a psychic able to tell people's emotions across time and space.

In any case, if they are summoned by the police to provide samples they could just had said, "thanks but no thanks" and be left alone?

I don't need to call people stupid, it's easier to just let some people's inability to think things through stand by itself.

Who are this "No Thai would do this trolls"?

Have you jumped in the "Let's make things up" bandwagon? It must be getting crowded in there.

Ok, the topic is the judge changing his mind, from what he said in April. It indicates yet again, how Thai authorities are hell-bent on getting convictions while concurrently doing all they can to hobble the defense team. If you had asked me, weeks ago, if the B2 could get a somewhat fair trial, I would have said 'possibly.' If you ask me now, I'd have to say 'no.' Just as important as a fair trial, is looking at ALL the evidence to see who should really be suspects. Unfortunately, there are many factors aligned against that premise, because even evidence is either:

>>> not found, because it wasn't sought,

>>> altered,

>>> mis-interpreted

>>> mislabeled by ineptitude, or re-labeled intentionally,

>>> snuffed out of sight,

>>> unprofessionally handled

And I don't think you have yet got an answer as to a certain person's opinion of the judge changing his mind!
