Great work, FlyingDutchman. Very professional. I think you've got all the details just right; hands brought up higher than western praying, the head bowing, eye movement. You'll have the satisfaction of seeing your handiwork being put to use often. Maybe the only Thai wai-ing smilie in the world!

You could perhaps change the eyes to two horizontal lines, and let these lines drop one step when the hands approach the face. That could give the impression of a stooped head - as in this Chinese one: http://www.artkaos.net/smileys/jap.gif

Another possible improvement could be to broaden the smile on both sides when the hands are in their highest position.

Just suggestions, maestro.
