Custom Avatars

Recommended Posts

Hey,

If you wanna have a custom avatar lemme know, I'll help ya out for free. Just post whatever avatar you want customized with a list of changes you want. Or, if you want a totally original one from scratch just give me an idea for that too. Oh yeah, and it's free.

Here's an example of some:

A little "Bored In Bagram" are we now ?  :D

I guess so... 12 hour shifts in the fire dept. dispatch office do that to a guy. I can't wait untill I'm done with this and back on the "floor" with the rest of the bunch. My buddy Brent should be taking my spot when I come back off of R&R :o sucks, to be him. 55, at least they all bring me food though, so I get to snack all day :D

Can  you tell us what  software you are  using for  this. I'd like to  get a good graphics editor  package - when I get a new PC - so any advice welcome. :o

I am using Macromedia Fireworks MX

159x120_box_fireworks.jpg

http://www.macromedia.com/software/fireworks/

$299.ºº USD

But I only use that for internet graphics, such as small avatars, banners, little logos.

If you want a Graphics Editor Package, I would suggest Adobe Create Suite 2's Photoshop. (It does everything and more, I just use Fireworks for web graphics because, for me, it's easyer to small things like that)

photoshopbox.gif

http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/main.html

$599.ºº USD

And also.. keep in mind that Adobe just purchased Macromedia, so in about a year or two, expect these products to be combined in some sort of way; just like when Macromedia bought Alliaire and came up with Homesite+.

I *DO NOT* CONDONE SOFTWARE PIRACY

But, there is a nice search engine here @ www.emoogle.com

Bagram is a bit closer to you Kerry :D

Indeed ! A little out of artillery range, but the way things work here (at least with our company), Bagram is like the other side of the world. Our camp is more like a medium security prison. Barbed wire on the walls, armed guards patrolling the perimeter, armed escorts when ever we leave the camp (which is pretty rare).

In fact, I think prisoners have it better (at least the ones in Canada).

The saddest part of my holidays is the day I have to leave to come back to this place (but hey ! It pays the bills and lets me get back to LOS 3-4 times a year !)

Of course you have my permission to "purloin" it. I can fix the jitteryness of the whip though if you want me to.

And here is an original avatar of mine based off of a charachter from the xbox game fable. tripxcore had requested one but I didn't see his guidance of what he wanted yet. I'm now working on what he wanted. But, if anybody wants to use this with thier name inside instead, let me know.

edit = I changed a not to a now :o

Thanks for the information :D . You can't beat a personal recommendation and examples of the output!

Not a problem RDN, I can give you a URL to a Art community that I am a part of that has many many more examples of what can be done. I don't wanna spam the forum so I'll PM it to you if you want.

And tripxcore, here is your requested animated avatar :D

tripxcore.gif

86x90

I took out the surrounding area and turned it into a transparancy, the triangles don't look like they are rotating on a set point, but they really are, one is clock wise and the other is counter clock wise, I had to do it over like 3 times to make sure I was doing it right... I finally came to the conclusion that it was an optical illusion :o
