  1. He is in complete denial, liar about numbers and want to see his interview surveys that he is not doing… a bad experience is told to 10 friends…once these blind Asian golf packages end in March, the numbers will drop significantly thailand has had 2 days since the first of the year under 50….most over 100 and recently over 150 meaning last 2 weeks if he was educated on facts, WHO recommends under 25….thailand own artificial number (not based on science) but on marketing is under 50 which CM doesn’t meet 95% of the time between Feb and May lsst year was an aberration…why? Because it rained a lot during this time frame… The current gov policy is to rely on rain to clear the air…just pathetic
  2. I know of two cases in CM where the foreigner won court cases of deception… the key was having a proper documentation trail…
  3. The whole driving system is a joke here - DMV, training and education enforcement punishment and now driving instructors… and road carnage continues…
  4. Stupid idea to allow strangers involved when cash is not secured… cash and carry society here lives on…
  5. How does he gets access to the children and the getting the children to do behavior? there must be scouts with boots on the ground? His Thai is that good if manipulating directly? Or is he selling images that he bought from middle men? can’t imagine he doesn’t have extensive Thai connections or access to networks?
  6. The only solution to CM’s air pollution is rain…after the rare of 2 consecutive nights, the AP has returned with vengeance after 4 days of under 100… my advice to CM tourists is ONLY come between June and December…even Dec is starting to become AP the other 5 months are an embarrassment
  7. Thailand is still a paper and pencil culture…drive thru window much easier
  8. Enjoying the air? It’s hitting 300 ppm today….challenging for worst in the world and you live there… at least you don’t die of old age…COD will be clear or should say smokey…
  9. Darwinism at work… people say Thais regret their actions later….if that is the case then why do these same events continue to happen every day? there is no lessons learned nor action plans developed to prevent these bad driving behaviors… waiting for the next mini van or bus crash where 8-20 more victims die… gov and community groups are either incompetent or just too lazy to properly resolve these issues b/c 1. Costs 2. Try to change human behavior in the Thai culture is virtually impossible b/c of an attitude and a lack of willingness to change and 3. Just don’t care about safety
  10. Very clear - your 90 days report was January 29th… it has nothing to do with when you apply or get a visa… after 90 days regardless of whatever your visa status, you are physically still in the country after 90 days then you must report… pay the fine for not paying attention to detail…
  11. For people who want to travel, hard to believe they can’t get vaccines in their own country… most travelers prefer to be vaccinated prior to traveling and do what is necessary to get vaccinated b/f traveling… I don’t see a huge demand for it…China?
  12. The problems are cognitive (learning/obeying rules) and attitude (aggressive and selfish)
  13. Saying he was arrested b/f being deported? What a stupid sentence How else would he be deported? A magical carpet ride?
  14. Usually people turn blue/ purple but green is new to me… I guess nursery school is cheaper than proper day care…but under two strikes me as too young being in a school environment where who know how many in a class situation?
  15. Pit Bulls have nothing on the mafia on ear removal…
  16. Who cares if ‘20 or ‘21…that is up to the buyer to know what he is buying…what the buyer doesn’t know if it is a lemon… the lemon laws should kick in…
  17. Why test immigration? You are at their mercy…get it done this week or make your plans for the border using up all your remaining passport pages
  18. What’s next? A little Switzerland in the mountains? that’s rhetorical question…Thailand has such an inferiority complex so nothing can stand on its own…
  19. Sorry but emergency road personnel within a me driving first thai culture is a Laurel and Hardy comedy hour… the blame is 100% thai DMV and enforcement
  20. Should have been handled quickly and properly at the time of the incident by the local police… obviously it was not if higher ups are involved… Define attack and results…hospitalized? Injuries? Personal feelings hurt? too much missing in this story
  21. A huge cultural problem…safety is not a priority at any level for thailand….it’s viewed as a cost with no consideration of benefits… life is cheap here and continues to be…
  22. I wonder how many cyclists compare to motorcyclists on the mountain? 1/10, 1/100th something in between? Low hanging fruit basically, it’s will kill the recreational cyclist market who are doing day or overnight trips on the Mtn…people are not going to pay extra or inconvenience friends for sag wagons…I can’t imagine a heavy cyclist volume to start with? trying to give the image of safety or make up for the 29 preventable deaths on an I’ll-prepared ship? if the roads are going to be slick or wet, maybe require a PFD on the uphill portion and generate a vendor market at the bottom? 500B to rent? I don’t think thailand has any law requires cyclists to mandatory wear bike helmets? Wouldn’t that be more practical and let the decision- making up to the rider?
  23. Why in the photo inside a room are they wearing PFDs? The horse is already out of the barn they are not following what their admiral said “with or without PFDs, they don’t impact the rate of survival” That quite alone pretty much sums up the cultural attitude of why safety is not a priority nor important in planning, preparation or operations…. they get exactly what they should deserve/consequences whether on roads, waterways, train crossings or nightclubs/buildings/construction sites…. safety is a strictly a cost and we ain’t going to invest in it…we will go with fate as it reinforces the old slogan of “life is cheap in Asia”.
  24. The officer killed is not young… “the dead officer was on his way back to the station….” That is quite an accomplishment
