Now I am with True and I have more than 16 Mpbs line connection speed, but real life bandwidth is nowhere near that (surprisingly, except when downloading torrents). I'll be lucky if I can watch online streaming media over 300 Kbps. This is purely due to traffic shaping (they will deny it vigorously, and when presented with supporting data, they go very quiet very quick and refuse to discuss it with you any more).

I can stream You Tube at 720p no problem at all no stuttering on my 16mb True Premium package. Also download at 15.3mb from usenet, torrents, Itunes store 24/7. I would say there is no traffic shaping on the 16mb premium product. Well not on mine anyway

The US rollout has already been delayed to July 14. I'm sure that will impact the availability through True or DTAC. You can wait for the grey market ones at MBK, but from personal experience I would never buy another one that is not factory unlocked.

I Just cut up my True unlimited 3G Data sim card and put it into the ipad. Works perfectly and the 3G reception seems a bitter better than iPhone probably due to the larger aerial?

I see that they use micro sims the same as the ipad which I thought might make it impossible to use one in Thailand but I see from a quick google search that true and AIS both have micro sims out and you can even cut down a normal sim to fit!! I'm would imagine (although not sure) it will need a software unlock as well but they never seem to be far behind especially in Thailand!!!

You can download fine with True from USENET servers with true. Don't use the ripoff crap service like usenet.com

Get your own usenet provider such as Giganews, Usnetserver, astraweb. use with NZBmatrix or newzbin or similar and use your own software such as Newsleecher or NZBDrop, or unison on mac. Save money.

I can download from usenet at 1.7MB/s on True Premium 16mb.

Too be honest if its available here at 10,000 by the time u pay shipping here import duty and vat. It's not worth the hassle for that sort of saving. I would just buy it here. only do it if the item is not available here or the saving is in excess of 10k.

unlikely that anything sent via Fedex, DHL or UPS will get in import duty and vat free. You could try USPS Express or priority about 50/50 chance. depends what the sender declares the value on the box tho you know

everyone is quick to blame the provider, look very carefully at your router stats Line Attenuation, SNR etc. before u shout that international bandwidth is low with your isp.

Lines in BKK are old, overhead cables, old condo wiring....
