  1. I think you are cooked. Go home, young man, There is a slim chance though, depending on the grade of land. Poor grades of land, like army land offer better chances to farangs plus the chance to own the lease on the land.
  2. Move to Vietnam, you don't get this ridiculous nonsense.
  3. I would have to say Samui. I have never been to Samui but I have been to Phuket and hated the damned place, so better the devil you don't know, than the devil you do. Why do the Thais destroy everywhere that is beautiful?
  4. When I was young it was a fun thing to do to 'moon' people. Eg if you were passing a group of people waiting for a bus, you would drop your kecks and show them your bare ass. Funny as hell.
  5. Yes, America, UK, to name two. Probably some places in Africa that I am not awfully familiar with (I hate the continent).
  6. Your choices of reading and music are unusual to say the least. Philip Roth isn't any particularly memorable read, and Vivaldi operas are again not exactly the top of the heap. Anyone who writes almost 100 operas, most of them are trash and the fact that the vast n=majority off his output is lost means it wasn't worth copying.
  7. You may be correct. Who can tell what land reform will look like. TIT. One thing is for sure, they will make a pig's ear of it.
  8. Of course the guns are owned in my wife's name. My understanding is that foreigners cannot legally own guns. There was a home invasion less than 100 yards from my home, we now have electric fences, savage dogs and guns.
  9. I'm saying that in my (fairly extensive) experience of living in Japan and having Japanese girlfriends, a big turn off for them seems to be boastfulness and an arrogance. Of the women I dated I can't remember boasting about my wealth or IQ as it seemed totally inappropriate and I imagined it would be a huge turn off for the women. Japan is a humble society interested in 'wa' or harmony. My observations are that American-style shameless boasting tends not to be seen as very attractive, and shameful. No Japanese woman wants a boyfriend that her girlfriends hate. On prick size, I am not hugely endowed myself, but it was never an issue with the women I slept with.
  10. Very important news. Can we have a close up of the woman's bottom if she is attractive?
  11. I'll be sure to visit when I get over my PTSD and neuropsychosis.
  12. Transferred? Hope about public execution for betrayal of trust?
  13. Government by stupid buzz words? He missed out ' soft power and other stupid catchphrases. Thinking of catch phrases, you don't hear much from Arthur Askey these days do you? His catch phrase was Yikey Yai, which I though was brilliantly clever, but didn't have longevity.
  14. A great place to be locked up if you have diarrhoea.
  15. Anutin, the genius that gave Thailand its incomprehensible cannabis laws? Yes he'll make a world of difference with gun control. He can't think his way out of a paper bag, and would certainly suffocate in one made from plastic. By the way, whatever happened to Captain Joe Ferrari? Did he get let off, or did he scarper while on bail?
  16. Look buying guns legally here is very expensive. What is the most expensive part of the transaction? The payment to the police for the licence is the most expensive....about 50-75K depending on the gun type.
  17. I must admit that I have guns for defence of my home, because of my advanced age and fear of home invasion. They are fully 100% legal but very expensive. A 9mm semi auto was over $2000 vs about $500 in the US.
  18. Thinking a bit more, perhaps they should order millions of those fantastic detectors that Porntip was advocating....you know they ones that detects bombs, guns, ammo, bioweapon sea cockroaches.
  19. How about tricking tourists by saying the shooting never happened? Lying is usually the default strategy.
  20. My wife leases a few rai of army land so this may well work out well for us. I have been expecting changes and land reform for years, and had almost given up hope.
  21. The big problem I see with waiting and seeing is that you might find it too late to enact any plan before you know anything definite. I will become a non resident of Thailand for tax purposes spending less than 180 days year here. I am lucky to have another residence when I can spend the time but I need to put my affairs in order here within the next three months, or so.
  22. I must admit, I hadn't factored those people in. Productivity wouldn't;t change much would it though. The WHO initiative started in 2014 and suicide rates have increased, so perhaps the therapists, nice as they are, aren't actually effectively preventing many suicides.
  23. Hey cool jacket Srettha. Where did you buy it? I'm on the big side and have trouble buying snappy clothes when I want to impress a lady, or two or three. That jacket has soft power written all over it (but in every small writing so it won't be a giveaway). If I can find one that doesn't cost a million baht, I'll set up a rival soft power group and out fox you and your team.
