  1. Maybe I am biased but Ossie women want to make me throw up. Vile loud voices with that awful Aussie accent. Bossy bitches as well I think. No thanks, I'd rather gouge my eyes out with a spoon.
  2. Try fluconazole twice a week for 6 months. Available OTC in Thailand
  3. I'm guessing Thailand is a shoe-in for the UNCHR now?
  4. Walz didn't last long did he....ran away when he was supposed to do a tour of duty in Iraq.....very brave....then tells lies about his record. Walz looks like an old man; he's 18 years younger than Trump and looks 6 years older. We are not allowed to say what he really looks like....maybe a priest, a scoutmaster. I wonder if him and Biden exchange stories about the smell of Harris' hair.
  5. Look at how the EU deal with dissent....Victor Orban, a case study. Democracy is overblown. As practised in US and EU it is not transparent and therefore totally corrupt.
  6. What good is a sign? In Thailand?
  7. I think it was an EV car, they probably didn't;t mention it because the government doesn't want you to know that EV sales are sucking wind at the moment.
  8. Silly straw man argument.
  9. Scandalous. We need the US to weigh in on the side of good here and to remove Thailand from their list of democracies.
  10. As I have said before. When Trump wanted to debate Biden he accepted lots of things that he would not have done like no audience. He has used this time getting the 'no questions beforehand' squared away, a big audience, friendly pro-Trump moderators. He signed up for ABC and CNN to debate Biden because he knew he would crush Biden. Kamala is an unknown quantity (I don't remember her from 2020 and she has not exactly been front and centre in the VP role) so why not get the debate terms he wants. Harris wants the debate more than Trump does.
  11. Tim Walz looks like a.....maybe Elon can call him out for that. Can't believe polls until you know their methodology.
  12. The opening was in poor taste, vulgar. I stopped watching. And haven't watched the Olympics either. The boxing charade makes me sick. Some poor real woman is going to get killed by a fake woman fighter. The chromosome test is definitive. Why don't the IOC say exactly what their tests are? It seems shrouded in mystery as far as the press are concerned. Perhaps they are hokey and 'inclusive'. And how the IOC's tests compare to a chromosome test.
  13. Annoy no; frustrate yes. Part of the issue was when studying I was taught 'Bangkok Thai' with Scottish 'rs'. Where I live hardly anyone speaks like this. Over the years my comprehension has gotten much better, such that my wife will often leave the room to take a phone call after a Quick Look at who is calling. But the only people who understand me are the family. A waste of money for the language lessons. Learning a new language at 54 was a challenge.
  14. I think the blowback if MFP gets banned will be pretty severe.
  15. And what democratic principles that Thailand might sacrifice would they be? Foreign relations committee? Why did you leave Thailand on the list of democracies when the Senate prevented Pita from forming a government? Asleep at the wheel does even cover it. Wilfully blind, in fact.
  16. Sad but true.
  17. I have lived here for 15 years now. I have never been assaulted by bouncers, but I have always paid my bill and not threatened the staff.
  18. It is not a tax question but a visa question. The reason for wanting to live outside Thailand is a tax reason but my question, if you read the post, is about ditching the Non O visa and coming in on a 60 day exempt visa 2 or 3 times a year.
  19. Why do these stories ever give the relevant information.....you are always left with unanswered questions. Why mention a Thai name when the headline says she's foreign?
  20. How will they handle the loss of revenue from the sex dens, and the alcohol by aged western drinkers who sit and drink all day and night?
  21. Many countries I visit don't stamp. In Europe I have never been stamped for the last 40 years or so. A lot of the time now you don't even show a passport. You might be right for countries that stamp.
  22. For many years I have wanted to change my non-O (retirement) visa from my British passport to a different nationality. I have been told rightly that I will have to start the process all over again so I have kept it in the UK passport for about 15 or 16 years now. Now the new remittance tax changes and the prospect of taxation on worldwide income in 2025 here in Thailand are forcing me to become a tax exile. From 2024 on I will limit my stay to 179 days per year. Now what type of visa is best for me going forward? I am wondering whether getting 2 or 3 x 60 day visa exempt entries would enable me to spend my 179 days in Thailand. Or will I need a 6 month visa issued outside the country? Can anyone guide me on the pros and cons of keeping the non-O visa I have with ME and coming and going as I have in the past. The downside is the 90 day reports, the annual extensions, and the requirement to show up in person every time you fly in from abroad. I could do with spending less time at the immigration office. I do know there is a website that allows some people to escape the 90 day reports, but I have never been able to get it to function.
