Thailand is surrounded by communists countries. It needn't kow-tow to the US or become a vassal state. Give it one or two years and these nations will be members of BRICS and the US will paid heavily for a non communist nation in the middle. Anyway, great news and nice of Thailand to un-sign the "peace conference output. There I apparently a backstory since it is very odd that countries un-sign meeting communiques after signing. The backstory is that nobody signed. It was assumed by the drafters that anyone at the meeting was a signatory and you had to contact them and opt out, but sadly, by mistake and in error and all that, some countries, like Thailand, liable to refuse to sign were not told about having to opt out. What a shame. I suppose it doesn't look that good when a high proportion of signers were NGOs funded by the US, and how many countries opted out. Well done Thailand. Beggars like Zelensky should not be your friends, because they are not your friends.

I think you need to impound the taxis. Firstly, since no cash will change hands there is no need to fire all the police officers, secondly, the driver and owner of the cab are often different people so hurt the one who has the money. -

Today I met a bloke who told me he had a Micropenis.
retarius replied to bob smith's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
This is why I have stopped going in bars and stopped socialising with farangs. They always have to brag about size, as though having a micropenis is something to brag about. My wife calls me Hamyai whenever she introduced me to one of her girlfriends. Interestingly, this newly introduced girlfriend usually tells me about her boy friend of who has a micropenis and she gives me her telephone number before parting for the evening. -

I've had my three score and ten years. I am not really interested whether I survive a nuclear war or not, all I desire is that I go quickly, before things get ugly, with an early full on strike. I have zero desire to fight for survival at my age. On a tangential issue, I find I am always shocked by the notion that our leadership (I mean the Western political leaders and pundits) would so enthusiastically and untruthfully lead us into the situation where, I for one, cannot see us not having WW3 in the next 3 years. Only continual restraint by Russia is keeping us out of such a war today. I cannot see that relying on Russia to keep yielding is going to win any prizes in the survival of the species reality show.

A flogging where no one died? And howls of outrage from the Hypocrisies in the West. When we have sickening pictures of the 274 Palestinians murdered by Israel to get 4 hostages and idiots on here falling over themselves to defend the indefensible. I rest my case your honour, there is no humanity in the west.

Three cheers for Gary Lineker. Best football commentator by a mile and with a functioning moral compass into the bargaining. The BBC doesn't get better than Gary Lineker. Great footballer too.

I'd get a non O A visa and leave after 175 days each year. You could even avoid 90 day reporting if you schedule your stays correctly. I screwed up this year. I was expecting that by now the rules for taxation would be defined much more clearly, and we had public comments by tax department officials that ran contrary to my expectations. But that has happened recently along with the announcement that Thailand will tax world wide income whether remitted or not. To be on the safe side I have decided not to be a Thai tax resident in 2024 or 2025 until all the rules are crystal clear to me and to any tax accountants I may hire in Bangkok. The issue I now have is that I am scrambling to be out of Thailand for 96 or 97 days in the latter 4 months of the year because my second home is on an island that will only give me a 90 day stay, so I cannot stay there for the entire time I am out of Thailand. Also I have to be sure to count the days correctly as one day here of there might be very costly indeed. One silly issue for example is that 2024 was a Leap Year does that mean you need to be out of Thailand for the extra day? Again a small issue that could be very costly indeed. Another critical issue for me is medical insurance and medications for existing conditions.

Hunter Biden Found Guilty on All Counts in Gun Trial
retarius replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Oh judge, tell its it is not so! Our whiter than white President's son (and if we were a monarchy, next in line to the Oval Orofice). I had hoped that thew criminal DOJ might have looked into his dealings with Burisma, since the income he received was what paid for the drugs, guns, alcohol, hookers and fast cars. Some might indict the IRS since he paid no income tax on his income from Bursima, meaning that Burisma and the IRS jointly enabled his crimes on drugs, alcohol, hookers, fast cars and guns. I just made a huge bet with a mate of mine that he will never see a single night banged up inside of a jail cell. He needs sympathy and understanding not condemnation (5555555555555........the other part of the bet is that Joe pardons him if the judge jails him. -

What you think about Asian wife's or Girlfriends

I think it is femininity. Asian girls are feminine like the girls of our youths. Try UK or US or EU women now....fat or thin they seem to have vile mouths and are smelly downstairs. No thanks. -
Land Dept Revises Guidelines for Foreign Ownership of Land
retarius replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The median price of a home in the UK is now 300K quid......you want to live near London look at 500K pounds....and yes that pokey semi in and ex council house in Wythenshawe is over 250K....even the council homes around London are selling for 1 million pounds.....you better believe it if you plan to move there. Also property is very cheap to open in Thailand, not so the UK or US....20 years ago I was shelling out over US 20K property taxes in NJ. It's like having another mortgage. I million pounds is not your father's 100K pools win....set for life. But then again if you come from Merseyside maybe there are some nice houses in that area for 50Kquid....if you don't mind the drive by shootings, the awful weather, the football hooligans and the filth all over the place; but why would anyone want to inflict that on themselves? Not me, that's for sure. -
I am leaving for 180 odd days. I have made the decision based on risk. Thailand is a high risk country to fight the bureaucracy and we have no idea what the rules are if you disagree with the tax inspector. I have been told it is an amicable discussion between you and the tax inspector....like the amicable discussions some folk have with the Immigration Officers. I am also uncomfortable with not knowing at present what form of documentation is required. I have a horrible feeling that Tax inspectors will be, as IOs are, to ask for anything. What if they ask for bank statements from banks on letterhead and with a real seal and signed by a branch manager? I cannot reasonably provide those. For this year at least I will not become a tax resident. My tax liability if my paperwork is not acceptable is very high and it is only a minor inconvenience to not become resident since I have another home (not in my country of birth or citizenship). Hopefully by the beginning of 2025, the rules will be clear and I'm sure we will have some triumphant stories on here about the gallant Englishman vanquishing the Tax Inspector, and some sob stories about how unreasonable and stupid Tax Inspectors are. If new rules on worldwide income being taxable in Thailand come out in 2025, I will stay another 180-odd days out side of Thailand in 2025 until those rules clarify.

Land Dept Revises Guidelines for Foreign Ownership of Land

Can I ask where you would be living? $1 million is not what it was. It will barely buy a house in the US or UK.
