Opinion It is time to abolish the death penalty in Thailand
retarius replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I cannot believe there are others out there who think like me about this issue. It had gladdened my heart. -
Deaths some bridge burning have occurred back home. I still have quite a few childhood friends I maintain contact with. It is always great to get together for a possum when I do get back to UK on business. No relatives left except my brother and I burned his bridge down years ago.

Wife had them in her extensively damaged knee joint. Brilliant and a better first alternative to surgery.

retarius replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
No, no, no, no, no. But do it much, much quicker.....also do a little better with the justice system to ensure guilt., we don't want to be executing any innocents such as might have happened after the appallingly fraudulent investigation on Ko Tao. -

Good idea. I bought a Japanese Alphard recently and can't use 90% of the electronic <deleted> on it. Most of which is totally superfluous and irritating frankly. Sadly I didn't buy a seal

Doesn't the word 'mull' suggest that some debate and thinking will occur during the Cabinet meeting? Surely this cannot be true? -

Seems to me that you either you try to chart a course between the two powers as Thailand did in the Colonial days, seemingly successfully. Alternatively you could pick one. No one ever got rich by being a US vassal. China is going to be the wealthiest nation under to sun by the end of this century. They seem to have a much more benign approach to weaker states than the rape and pillage and coercion of the neo-colonialist US, who are even screwing their friends now blowing up pipelines to weaken Germany for instance and dragging the world to war for their own profit all the time. Personally I'd get closer to China.

Ministry Slams Showing Video Of Thai Being Brutally Killed At UN
retarius replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Israel's brutality,. barbarity, inhumanity and moral indecent does is not absolved by a few killed by Hamas. And you are right, Israel's barbarity does not excuse barbarity by Hamas. But where do you stand on occupied lands? Does an occupied nation have a right to defend itself. Your later comments on Ukraine suggest that you see Ukraine as having the right to fiught Putin and to commit whatever atrocities they chose, like yesterday's bombing of a nuclear facility; I see the coup which overturned a democratically elected leader and engineered a coup by the US in Ukraine in 2014 (source Victoria Nuland arch warmaker), then the killing by 14000 Ukrainian Russian speaking citizens by nazis, is not a justification for Putin's intervention? Indeed, the US's plainly illegal intervention in Syria to steal oil, with a justification that they were fighting ISIS and saving lives from terror (which is total BS, how many ISIS members have been killed over the years....almost none). This is a similar justi8fication that Putin has used. The problem with the 'rules-based-order' so regaled by the US and UK is that the rules have never been articulated or followed consistently by the evil axis in the West. You really think they governments tell the truth now? To me that is incomprehensible. I had some faith in US government and the UN in 2000 and have zero today. -
American 8th Grade Test from 1912.......
retarius replied to rbkk's topic in Teaching in Thailand Forum
With massive grade inflation in say 'A' levels in the UK I wonder how I would fare these days in such exams. I got 10 'O' levels with 9 grade 1s which in 1967 was worthy of an article in the local n news paper. I got 4 'A' Levels and two special papers. 3 of the 'A' levels were grade A. Again I got a short article in the newspaper, forecasting a bright future. I did miserably at university....but pretty well in my career. I think I peaked early 🙂 -
House elects Mike Johnson as Speaker, ending GOP chaos
retarius replied to Social Media's topic in World News
I don't know this guy from Adam but his first declared statement, that China, Russia and Iran, were the new axis of evil, seems designed to spread chaos not end it. Anyway, from my view he forgot that the axis oil evil is actually the uS, UK and Israel, and a c lear statement, even if it would be lying, of trying to improve the US morally , would have been welcome. As it is what the hell is the point of trying to mend relations with China (a stated aim of the administration) when your third in live to the presidency calls the Chinese "evil". Rather stupid and myopic I think. -
Ministry Slams Showing Video Of Thai Being Brutally Killed At UN

There is nothing you can say about the humanity of Hamas that doesn't equally apply to Israelis who lack any and all human decency, lead by evil people like Natanyahu. Hamas at least have the right to reclaim their occupied land by force of arms, whereas Israel has zero moral or rights under international law to defend their position in occupied lands. The should, in my opinion get out of all occupied Palestinian lands and withdraw to the 1967 borders, end of story. I will not debate this further I am tired of debating wroth morons. -
Ministry Slams Showing Video Of Thai Being Brutally Killed At UN
retarius replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I didn't realise he was Thai. There's a lot of hate in the world for sure....but killed with a garden tool? At least they didn't have US weapons sent to Ukraine or you may have had a real bloodbath. Is that what Hamas, the feared terror organisation, are fighting with these days. Personally I doubt that this is any sort of organised terror attack, just a 'lone wolf' as they say, a member of a minority oppressed person relieving some personal rage and hatred. Much worse is happening in Gaza every day, and much worse happens every day in US cities and towns with mass shootings. It would be an improvement in US foreign policy to send some garden tools to Ukraine instead of bombs, will surely cut down on the death toll. Yes, you have swallowed too much Kool Aid, my friend and watched too much news and lies from CNN and the BBC. It has softened your brain. A comment attributed to many different people, but originally to Cardinal Richelieu is apt her: "one man dying is a tragedy, a million dying is a statistic." Now tell me what do you think from your high horse of Isreal coming a hospital and killing 500 people. And don't tell me it was Hamas. America has all the satellite details of the flight, and could easily resolve this issue, but refuses to release any satellite video. Strange as this is by far and away the most powerful bomb supposedly fired by Hamas....thje rest kill only one or two people at most....Israeli bombs wipe out the big numbers. My humour as you put it reflects my revision at the barbaric Israelis and their lack of any decency or humanity. And no I'm not Palestinian. -
I guess there are different attitudes in different parts of the country. The young (MF voters) this time around are likely to be much more liberal than me on this issue, and I expect PT are trying to make a bit of political hay here, but it's too little too late. I hope you and your b/f are very happy and are still enjoying the support of the community. From my perspective, as I have tried to communicate, but which is likely to be misunderstood, I have no issue with gay marriage per se. I don't believe in marriage as an institution in many event and, neither does my long term 18 year female partner here. My issue is government priorities, and injustice my world. real help for poor people who are going hungry, is a rather more important issue, than whether gay people can marry or just live together, as I do with my de facto wife.

Funny, Colin Powell had no trouble showing unverified lies to the UN did he? Lie and lie after lie about WMDs mobile bioweapons etc.
