  1. Great game, but as with several posts have already mentioned, there was a severe lack of skills and really slow ball movements. What really disturb me was the type of people there, and before you guys get going on me let me explain.

There was a family behind us in the stand, 2 young children, these two kids had the foulest mouth I've ever seen. I doubt that they even know what they were saying. It is astonishing that the parents were not even controlling them. If this is the future generations of LOS then we are in trouble.

I know that watching a match can be a family affair but please...

  2. I've heard many good things about Kitchen, but didn't know about the free parking at Shells. Nice bit of info. I have to admit that so far, I am liking Miguels and find it probably the most authentic in taste so far. When I say authentic, I mean the kind of taste that I'm used to from living in WI, USA. Now I definitely have to hit the Kitchen to compare. Diablos is just to troublesome in finding parking, unless you are on 2 wheels :whistling:. On that note, where is the best US style burger in town??? And I mean the artery clogging, fat dripping kinda burger. Duke's is ok, but is there anything better here?

  3. But is the black stuff here the same stuff over there? I know Singha taste a lot different over in the US than here in LOS, apparently the recipe is a little different?

  4. Loving it, especially with the current gas prices. The idle stop is a little weird at first, but once you get use to it, it's barely noticeable. I don't ride it as much but averaging around 500km/month.

  5. Just noticed this oldish thread resurrected and would like to confirm the figures I quoted in another thread yesterday. I do a regular fill up every time I reach 200kms on my trip meter and the most I have paid is 160 Baht over the last 4/5 months since I bought my PCX. The price per litre of this fill up was 33.34 Baht and when you do the arithmetic this works out to...drum roll.... 118 miles per gallon. Well done Honda you don't appear to be making it up! As a matter of interest my usage is made up basically of trips in and out of Pattaya which consist typically of a fairly hard pushed 4kms at up 90 kph on local roads and the Sukhumvit to get to Pattaya Tai and then 4kms to where I want to reach in town at whatever speeds traffic allow and the same on the way back. The major fuel saving on the PCX, I think, is the engine auto shut off after 3 seconds stationery which saves a fortune over other bikes when you consider the time spent waiting at traffic lights around Pattaya. Nobody has to eat my fumes either!! :)

Next time please clarify which gallon unit you are using, imperial or US.

  6. I just personally take it very easy on the pedals. No sudden unnecessary start or stop. Just let the car roll up to the light, and see if you can time it so you don't actually have to stop!! Kinda hard in BKK. I'm in Chiang Mai, so the driving is pretty easy, using the superhighway most of the time.

Apart from your driving style, maybe check the tyre pressure and all the oils. They help some what.

As for the radio/AC argument, I don't think that they make that much of a difference, but can you imagine driving without AC here?

  7. Personally it's a great buy for short-mid commute. Got new seat for it but still find the ridge in the middle being too far forward, might have to spend money for get a custom seat. Great fuel economy for the gas price , not the fastest off the block and a little heavier than the 'clicks', etc. but a lot more room. Love the large storage space under the seat.

As for the tyres, definite change them. Low sided on a u-turn, thanks fully wasn't going fast but still embarassing.

  8. yeah, you don't need to use octanes higher than the manual stated, that's just burning cash. Cars these days will run on Gasohol, they seems a bit more sluggish!, but they works. I do try to use pure 91 once in a couple of month, but hey that's just me thinking that it'll clean more gunk out of the valves.

The one un-answered question is what the heck is the differences between gasohol-95 and Vpower 95. Both have 10% ethanol!!!

  9. Sad to see this happening, but it's the law.

Deporting him would be a laugh unless the US is willing to send him to jail for possessing narcotics with intent to sell (using the US's punishment rating). The thai wife is pretty much SOL. but then again, all this will be swept under in a couple of days as usual.

  10. This is an unfortunate trend. It actually amazed me if the patrons can actually distinguish the music from the bar they are sitting/standing in. I used to live across the canal (not the moat) and OMG during the loy Kratong, it was crazy. I'm on the 7th floor and I still couldn't hear my tele. Plus it was Carabao on overdrive, I mean they somehow speed it up..

There should be some kind of noise pollution limits and actually enforces it, lots of ฿฿฿ in there :whistling:

Is Monkey's live music really that loud? It seems to be the quietest one!! But I havn't been there since December so it might have changed.

  11. I have the same problem. Bought the Macbook in BKK!!!, everytime I update the OFFICE, I'll lose the fonts.

Have u tried talking to the iMac store? Apparently they can download thai fonts onto your thumb drive and basically u install it onto your macbook. I havn't yet as I simply don't use the fonts/thai language enough

  12. There are so many things that will cause those symptoms. From so many sources. Food hygiene (HACCP) in this country is pretty much minimal at best. From what I've read, it's probably toxins from bacteria, then again there are MANY different species, toxins, etc to think about. The seaweed itself is probably the culprit, but rather something contaminated the food.

Apologies if I got a little technical.

My point is that eating food in this country (or any other) from street vender is a risk that we all have to take.

  13. I am not saying that this is the cause of this tragedy but just wondering. Food for thought.

BANGKOK, Thailand (AP) - Unscrupulous vendors in Thailand have been selling meat of the deadly puffer fish disguised as salmon, causing the deaths of more than 15 people over the past three years, a doctor said Thursday.

Although banned since 2002, puffer fish continues to be sold in large quantities at local markets and restaurants, said Narin Hiransuthikul of Bangkok's Chulalonkorn University Hospital.

``Some sellers dye the meat of puffer fish and make it look like salmon which is very dangerous,'' Narin said.

Narin said over the past three years more than 15 people have died and about 115 were hospitalized from eating the fish.

Despite the care taken in preparation, in some cases the diner experiences numbness in the tongue and lips, sensations that often disappear. In other cases these symptoms are followed by more serious events such as headaches, nausea, vomiting and paralysis of the face and extremities. Extreme cases will experience acute paralysis, respiratory distress, convulsions, cardiac arrhythmia and speech impairment and finally, death.

Umm, I believe that puffers are white meat fish, so how can they be disguise as salmon???. And the size differences between the two species!!!.

  14. This is really typical of event promoting in CM these days. Really low key, and unless you know certain people, you might not even know about it. These days, we have to have FB (facebook) to keep upto date. I guess it's free promotion and easy.

  15. Mayonnaise Yield: 1 Servings 1 c Salad oil 1 Egg -=OR=- 2 Egg yolks 2 tb Lemon juice -=OR=- 2 tb Vinegar Salt and pepper Paprika Beat egg or egg yolks with a rotary beater until slightly thick; add 1 teaspoon oil at a time beating well after each addition, until 1/3 cup has been added. Add a few drops lemon or vinegar. The mixture should be quite thick and perfectly smooth. If it isn't you added the oil too quick or didn't beat it enough. Continue to add the oil and acid alternately until it's used up. Add seasonings to taste. Store covered in the refrigerator.

I have used this mixture before and it came out pretty good. One thing to keep in mind is that unlike Kraft or other commercially made mayo, the home made has no chemicals to preserve it and although that may be healthier it will only be safe to eat for about a week.

I typically only make as much as needed. Or the least possible. Only use lemon, lime came out really weird :bah:. Sometimes I add a little english mustard powder, give it a little bite.

  16. I got mine for 70K, and that was last year.

For those people who are saying that it's slow and fat. I believe the concept was to have a slightly larger frame around the 125 engine. I'm around 180cm, and I pretty much find that the Neuvo is a little too short, plus I am not keen on the riding position of those ones.

I don't have big feets, but I have some trouble with the Neuvo's foot placement. They are just too small. blink.gif

Did people forget all the storage space under the seat? Cos I'm sure that it's bigger than most other scooters around. But then again if you are going grocery shopping for the week, then nothing is going to be big enough.

Love the comparison between PCX/Accord and Neuvo/Miata (mx5). Seriously, they aren't even close. Neuvo-PCX are much closer in size/styling/engine size than Accord-Miata. But I do know what you mean, trying to weave the PCX through the gaps is pretty challenging, given the wider body.

But you know what? I bought mine because of the leg room (I can stretch a bit), underseat storage, and the ,then, uniqueness of it. laugh.gif

  17. Does any one know if there is a Tiger or Lifan dealer/shop here? Wanting to upgrade from scooter. Been to all the other manufacturers but I've heard about these two but can't seem to find them anywhere???
