  1. Lets break it down

    1st Entry gets 60 Days

After 60 Days get 30 Days extension at Immigration

after these 30 Days (before the visa runs out) you do a visa run to activate your 2nd entry.

Then again after 60 days you go to Immigration for your 30 days (Your visa is expired by then, but Immigration doesn't care)

6 months validity are only needed for 3 Entries

  2. I noticed on this new rules from Hull that the lump sum needed for a non o multiple is by exchnge higher than 800 000 bht , and even higher than the montly income by exchange !

HuLL - Additional Evidence for Non-Immigrant Visas 31.08.12.pdf

True but the min. monthly income (£1200) is less then the Thai immigration eq of 65.000 THB

In todays rate £20.000 lumpsum would be +/- THB 930.000, but the £1200 would be +/- THB 56.000.

  3. Ahhh...the grey bar, how could I have missed it.

Just seems odd that I can't reopen this topic, as I'd be interested to know what the OP thinks of the school 6 years later, or if any others have been to the school.

If the OP is still an active member you always can use PM to ask him

  5. What's the point in getting a contract just for a couple of months as it could take 3-4 weeks to set it up from the first day when you apply thumbsup.gif

at the moment you get a line from 3 bb within approx 3 days tongue.png

Wow when I applied around 1 year ago, it took them 2 weeks just to call and said that we can get Internet on our address (Central Pattaya), and then it took them another 1++ week before I had a working line.

Btw: I didn't care that it took that long as 3BB is my backup line in case ToT hicks..

  6. 3BB is worse and they lock you into a 12 month contract thats impossible to break without massive fees should you need to. Yes 3BB connection is pretty bad but I'm not in your area

If you can read the local language.... you would understand that there are other options for you. You went for a free modem I'll guess? So yo saved 599 thb for a crappy huawai modem and signed up for a year long promo deal. These kind of packages you can find all over the globe.

When I enquired at 3BB all they would offer was a 1 year contract.

  7. Geotagging:

In short it is that your Phone or Camera (with a GPS built-in) writes the GPS Latitude and Longitude of where you took the picture into your Picture Exif data, and thus by looking at the picture at home on for example your computer, you can find out "exactly" where that picture was taken.

    http://en.wikipedia....ordinate_system

    http://en.wikipedia....wiki/Geotagging

    http://en.wikipedia....age_file_format

  8. Do you use Total Commander ??

There is plugin for exif available (http://www.ghisler.com/plugins.htm) and then you can use the Exif info in the Multi-Rename Tool in TC.

Show camera data like aperture and exposure time from JPG and Canon RAW image files.

    1.8: Supports Unicode file names

2.1: Supports GPS coordinates, altitude and time

2.2: Support GPS data: Image direction (in degrees)

    2.3: 64-bit support

    Source available.

  9. Thanks, but care to share a link ?

Sure. Link here: http://submarine-cab...egeography.com/ ( or you could click on the picture abovethumbsup.gif )

    Thanks.

This is what I saw when I clicked the Picture

    wai.gif

there may be a bug there. it opens in target="_blank" here. i just tried again, are you on a smart-phone?

Nope but in the meantime I found out why it does that (don't know if I break any TV rules wink.png ) but I've scripting disabled (to be more precise ajax.googleapis.com)

So nothing wrong with your link !

  10. Long term relationship does not count as marriage.

Some honorary consulates might under circumstances issue, but not in Asia.

True, I tried this a couple of years (3-4) ago (before I got married to the same girl) with a Consulate in Europe.

They where very bitchy about it and said something like: "You can't prove that you are in a relationship with this Girl",

so I left it at that and went to Hull and got a Non-O on basis of Visiting Friends. (Note: Hull don't issue these anymore)

  11. If I open the link in your message, http://newsletter.thaivisa.com/ I get this

So I can understand why Thunderbird thinks this is a Scam as there is no info on that Page to link it to Thaivisa, but only to Amazon and Apache, this makes it suspicious to Thunderbird

But because it is a Subdomain of Thaivisa you can safely ignore the Thunderbird message.

  12. Maybe this helps ??

Note: Don't overwrite the Firmware for a Garmin GPS bought in Thailand with the standard English One, for the Thai Firmware you can contact GPS Society or register your device there and then you can download the new Firmware (if available)

    Contact GPS Society Here: http://www.gpssociet...wheretobuy.aspx

Register your Garmin device here: http://www.gpssociet...mber_Login.aspx

    Note 2:

Warning about upgrading the Thai Garmin GPS Firmware:

If you are using Firmware version 1.0.1 and there is a newer version 1.0.3 then you also have to install version 1.0.2, so you can't go from version 1.0.1 directly to version 1.0.3 !!! (Numbers used as Example)

  13. our alarm system, highly efficient, installation cost 30,000 Baht

    plus rather expensive maintenance:

    T%2BM.jpg

55555, one other advantage is that they still work when there is a Power Cut

  14. Because a lot of people can't open docx, here the Pasted text

Bangkok-Mukdahan comments: Trip went well. Departed about 45 minutes late, but arrived in

Mukdakan at 6:30am. Clean, comfortable and cheap.

Arrival Mukdahan Bus Station: Transferred to Savan Vegas minivan arrived as scheduled and proceeded

to their VIP Lounge to prepare Thai and Lao Immigration cards. The pickup point is just left of the bus

    station.

Lao Visa: Agent completed the form process, I only had to get my photo taken and pay the fees. Savan

Vegas has a special lane for the minivan at both sides of the border. If you have the visa in-advance then

the less time it takes. They asked for the 20 baht per person additional fee for the officers at the border.

Savan Vegas Thai Visa Service: At check-in the formalities were complete within 10 minutes, application,

fees, documents. 5 meal vouchers, Baht 500 match for casino, spa voucher, receipt of payments and

deposits, room card key and rechecked all documents and application for Non-Immigrant “O” Visa.

Items given to agent: Application, two photos, fee B2,000, house registration, marriage certificate, wife’s

ID, bank statement, copy of employment and income letter.

Savannaket General is a nice place. Shopping at Singapore market ( clothes, dry goods, electronics, some

gift items, fresh vegetable and fruit ( you could spend hours walking around just looking), ODOP ( not

very big , but handicrafts, souvenirs, local smokes and whiskey ( price were about 20% higher than the

market and fixed prices still cheap though) was good, people friendly and helpful. Prices are reasonable,

but room to negotiate at the local markets). Lunch at Vietnamese restaurant ( set menu for 2 with

salad, pork plate, sweet & sour shrimp, squid and vegetable dish, bean sprout salad and soup, bottled

    water, wet towels Baht 82)

Savan Vegas Hotel and Casino: Won on slots (Jackpot on first machine) and had a great time. Covered

the visa and hotel fees. Staff was friendly and helpful. Layout was nice and some good Asian singers and

bands played. Buffet was not busy during the weekdays, but I am sure on weekends they get busy.

Food was fair. Breakfast was fair, lunch fair, dinner was the best. Room was nice, clean, no Wifi, but LAN

was available for free. Wifi outside the room available. Plenty of water and can request more. The slots

were good to me and my wife. I enjoyed my visit and applied for casino membership which can get

discounts and gain points. They also have Savan Vegas beer. Beer Lao and Beer Savan which are cheap

    and tasty.

Return of Passport/Visa Experience: No complications, I did have all documents and fees. Submitted

9am returned next day 2pm. Everything returned and completed.

Return to Thailand : Nice Immigration officers Lao and Thai and completed in 10 minutes. Total of 10

    minutes.

Mukdahan – Bangkok bus trip return was quick and easy. We made great time back to Bangkok. Stopped

for a meal and also a snack box. Take a light jacket as the VIP bus is cold. No noisy karaoke or bad music.

Silent sleep back. Another tip would be an inflatable pillow or small pillow to make it even more

    comfortable.

    Costs: Bus Baht 1,600

    Lao Visa: 1,500

    Thai Visa : 2,000

Savan Vegas 1,499 ( hotel room 2 days/ 1 night, transfer Thai/Lao and return, Visa Service, massage 90

minutes, 5 meal vouchers, free water in room and casino, free casino membership, amenities, LAN / Wifi

internet. Hot shower, great air-con room, view outside (requested), TV channels in Thai, Lao, English,

Chinese ( They could do with some more English programs).

Tuk-Tuks 2 people 100 baht one way downtown and then 100 for return. 4 trips Total: 800 baht. You

can wait for small buses at cheaper prices, but waiting is the down side. I will rent a motorbike or car

    next time.

Outside Meals, snacks and gifts 1,000 ( lots of bargains at the markets) I came back with clothes, lucky

charms, whiskey, wine, kitchen ware, small gifts for friends, nail clipper set, etc…

Tips and fess: 300 (waiters, bell boy, officers)

    Total Baht 8,699

Note: You could save on bus fare, agent fees and Tuk-Tuks if you took a cheaper bus, stayed at a guest

house and did the visa application yourself. In my opinion, I would do what I did, and just enjoy the trip

instead of saving a few baht.

    Thanks Savan Vegas!
