  1. I've done it by getting friends to pack a styro-foam box with some ice, and having the stuff (Like cheese etc) packed in watertight bags and then send them over to me by Bus (Nakorn Chai Air). This was from Pattaya to Buriram.

Left Pattaya at 20:30 and I picked it up 8:30am the next day.

Can't remember what the transport cost where, but it wasn't expensive. (Overall weight was around 8 kg)

  2. I would go for a Nuvi Garmin with ESRI Maps. (Hassle free and the best map for Thailand)

You can see if it's done by ESRI, by looking at the following:

1- During start up the GPS will give you info about the installed Map's (look for GIS DATA (ESRI))

2- In Settings, System there is an about button, click that and you will find info about the MAPS (Again look for ESRI (btw latest version is 12.1)

3- On the back of the GPS there should be a sticker, which says Certified by ESRI Thailand.

Also have a look at http://www.eaglegps.co.th/ and you can orientate yourself a bit on the devices that are available (Look for Nuvi http://www.eaglegps.co.th/index.php/lang-en/car-navigation)

  3. best solution:

money can solve anything in the LOS.

go to any driving school. (not those in inner bangkok, get those around the eastern bangkok, from klong tan to minburi)

talk to the person-in-charge who will most likely charge you 3-5kb for the driving license.

no test, nothing needed to be done. you just go there and take a photo for your driving license.

At a lot of DLT's this practice doesn't work anymore. My friend tried it (through a Driving School) (and he even went up as far as 10k) but no joy. DLT wouldn't accept it.

But after 3 days of failed Theory and Practical exams he got his license (and he only paid DLT's standard Fees)

  4. My friend uses S85 in his Garden and is definitely good stuff (But wear protective gloves while spraying). But he says that (especially now (with the rains)) that he needs to spray at least once a week.

Here pictures of S85 and Chaindrite, so you know what to look for.

  5. I have the google thailand english version bookmarked. Yesterday and today, when I use that link I end up with securesignupoffers.net

    Anyone else?

    Has it been hacked/hijacked?

I have google.co.th as my Home Page and I had the same problem yesterday. Good to know that I wasn't the only one.

I even scanned my PC with 3 different AV rescue CD's.

    But today everything seemed fine.

  6. What is the purpose of wanting certificate of residence?

If is is to stay longer in Thailand (if I've read your post correctly) I'm afraid you will need a bit more than that including Visas and financials.

A certificate of residence does not extend your stay beyond your visa expiry date.

    More info required me thinks!!

The OP needs one for obtaining a drivers license.
