If you go to Immigration take the ticket with you that will show that you are leaving within the 7 Days.

If you have a 5 Years Thai Driving License you can get one at the DLT (I'm not 100% sure if the Pattaya one issues those anyone ??)

If you don't have a Thai 5 Year License, then the only place where you can get 1 legally, is back in your Home Country.

To get a new entry into Thailand (note: talking about Visa Runners to neighboring Country's to Thailand) as a Foreigner, you must first leave Thailand (Thai exit stamp) and then enter into another country (with a valid Visa and/or entry stamp) leave that country (valid exit stamp) and then you can officially reenter Thailand again.

Just having a visa for that "another" country and not doing the exit and return routine doesn't qualify for getting a Thai entry stamp, you must actual leave Thailand and must have been in another country for this be able to work.

I think the problem of the OP is that he is in Vietnam at the moment and not in Thailand. So a train to Vientiane will maybe not be possible.

I have no idea if it is possible to cross into Laos from Vietnam and go to for example Savannakhet ? There it should be easy to get a single TR visa.

Talking to one of my usual m/c taxi drivers this afternoon, he says the hospital on Soi Buakhao is also very good and cheap. That would have been better and closer for me. But the info was too late for me.

I think the cheapest way is to take a Bus on Sukhumvit (but this can take up 4 hours as it stops everywhere). Or try going by Train, that also should be very cheap. About the Vans there is pick up point a little bit further up from Big C Extra (Pattaya Klang) before you hit Foodland. The pickup point is on your left hand side.

Why don't you buy a cheap (and most importantly) refundable ticket with one of the Low Budget Carriers out of Thailand ?

(If you show that ticket, when you board your original plane they will see that you intend to leave within 30 days after arrival, and this will even satisfy immigration staff at BKK airport if asked for a outgoing ticket .)

After you arrive in Thailand and got settled in, you just go to a travel agent and cancel that Ticket.

I just did mine last week (Pattaya / Jomtien).

I made a list of the Documents (and pictures) needed (Please note, this was for Pattaya / Jomtien Immigration). For the second extension, I did not need a witness.

Because you only have a One Way Flight the airline might not let you board the plane when you don't have a Valid Visa.

You could buy another cheap Ticket (shows that you are leaving Thailand within the 30 Days after Arrival) and after arriving you just cancel that Ticket.
