Now that the Land Office have started to refuse to recognise any document in a foreigner name,you may well get a foreign property owner stuck in no mans land to pay you to stay in their placeIf you're looking for a bargain you need to shop around without an agent.
For my one-year rental I offered half what the previous tenant paid for his one-month stay (he paid 20K) and it was accepted after the agent spent 5 minutes on the phone talking to the Thai wife of the farang owner. I doubt that I could have pulled it off without the agent's help, but who knows?
Negotiation is the key be it for rental or purchase. Start very low and stick to your guns. There is a huge amount of oversupply of accommodation here and it's increasing every day.
Huh...?
Is he maybe referring to this ?? Which has something to do with foreigners and problems securing long term lease or mortgage.

The mentioned minimum age of 18 in that quote is not correct, should be 21 years old minimum.
I already corrected that

All cars sold in Thailand are liable to pay an excise tax (info on taxes here) - the first car buyer's program offers up to 100,000 Baht rebate on the excise tax value, after one year of ownership, with these basic rules:
- Purchaser must be a Thai national, and over 21 years old
- Purchaser must have never had a car or truck registered in their name
- Purchaser must agree to waive their rights to sell the car for 5 years
- The car must be:
- Made in Thailand
- A pickup truck, or a passenger car with an engine less than or equal to 1.5L
- Have a sticker price less than 1M Baht
- Be purchased before Oct 30, 2012
- Made in Thailand
- Purchaser must be a Thai national, and over 21 years old

How about this: The cops caught another Brit with coke, ganja and amphetamine he bought from a bar girl in Bangkok. They forced him to empty his ATM account which held 40.000 Baht. After payment he received the drugs back. When he refused to take them of fears to get busted again as soon as he leaves the police station, he was told: No problem you can keep because you paid already for this. If another cop catches you tell him to call us…
Sounds to me as Bar Stool talk. Was this is a published story ? If so, Link please.
Edit: //
What makes it so untrustworthy is the combination of the drugs. If it was only Ganja .....who knows

If you can't afford "The Life," ...GO HOME!
They will not. A good friend hit rock bottom here and was clinging to just about everything to keep him here in Pattaya. Finally a couple of friends chipped in and give him the money to pay for this airfare and taxi and everything else (among other things paid the money he owed in rent).
If we hadn't done that, I think he would be still here and would be wandering the streets or ended up in a life of crime.
Now he has a decent low paid job back home, but in every email he sends there is always a small remark how he misses Pattaya and wants to get back asap.

Can"t image being so desperate as to sell drugs in Thailand.Go back to the uk and sign o the dole
Reason being.
Because over here they are Handsum and Sexy and back home they are just one of the many.
-
I am finding this more annoying. I don't mind Russian. I do mind Russian ONLY.
Soon it will be like this:
-
What a moron, living in paradise with a paid job and he goes and f*&^%$ it up.No sympathy for him. Lock him up.
Lack of money makes people do desperate things.

There's stupid and there's stupid...just don't get it...why???? Of all the crazy things you could do with your life about the last thing you want to do is sell drugs in Thailand.......poor b****** won't know what's hit him.
One consolation is he won't go insane in a Thai jail........he cant he's obviously already insane.
I think exactly the same thing...why do this?? If you are desperate just go home and become a mini cab driveror something....makes no sense...
Because over here they are Handsum and Sexy and back home they are just one of the many.

From this site:
Please note, if you are found in possession of a lot of drugs, the police authorities will assume you are carrying with an intent to sell. The penalties for this are severe in Thailand. You can get life or even execution. -
^ I think it would help in your search if you let people know which places you already have been to.
My First choice would be Boy Air & Sound
Going out of Pattaya towards Bangkok , past Cholchan Hotel before flyover
Its on your right on the other side of the road
opposite the Temple/orphanage do a U turn and its about 300 meters up on your left

Well, it's a pretty short list at the moment, so here goes..
* Toyota Prius: 1.2M - 1.37M
* Toyota Camry: 1.65M - 1.87M
* Lexus CT200h: 2.19M - 2.69M
* Lexus LS600hL: 12.9M
* Lexus RX450h: 6.74M
* Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid: 6.65M
* Porsche Panamera S Hybrid: 8.75M
No hybrid Benz or BMW for now ?
I need to buy a new one but feel stupid if I don't by a hybrid, and Cayenne is way too expensive for me !
If MRO says, those are the Hybrids that are available in Thailand, then that's it. If there are any other Cars planned, look at the thread (do a search) New Cars for 2012 and beyond
Please learn how to correctly quote

I love a nice peaty Islay whisky and was reading on an old thread that Laphroaig is available in Best Supermarket for 1500 baht. The cheapest I can get it in Bangkok is 2000 baht. Can anyone confirm what the price of it is nowadays in Best Supermarket? If it's still going for 1500 baht I'll come to Pattaya and stock up.
I will check Supermit for you - normally cheapest spirits in patts
Example: Grey goose vodka 1500 (1750 in most shops)
Where is Supermit???
I think he means the shop in between Foodland and Big C Extra. Near the Minibuses to BKK.

Quote from OP
I can't believe all Pattaya girls are like this. I've read widely on the net (Stickman and the rest) and there is broad condemnation. The 'Pattaya-Adventures' website is also damning but does at least suggest that success is possible.
Note: I could be wrong, if so sorry, but the OP hasn't been back since and talking about the Web and then mention this specific website ....
The OP has a post count of 1. There's no doubt it's a troll post.
Something many people before already have said, but as said before nobody was reading it as People like to BICKER.
A very successful Troll Post I might add.

Anyone noticed that the OP has not made any more input to this forum?
+1. Is this maybe because he posted this message which was just a sneaky way of promoting his website ??
But no one noticed because people just like to bicker.

^ I guess it's only a coverage for Accidents and only in approved Hospitals, if you go to another Hospital you have to pay yourself and then have to go to SCB to claim the money back (Takes around 3-4 Months for the Money to enter your account)
My wife has one of these things, but what she has could be different then the one you are describing.

I heard an immigration 'mini-office' is planned for the Soy Boy Cow area. Anyone heard anything about this rumour?
Are you mistaken in posting this in the Pattaya Forum ?? Soi Cowboy is in Bangkok.
I'm guessing he means Soi Bua Khaow
If that is true I'm terribly Sorry
(But you have to admit, that is a very awkward spelling for that Soi, and I thought already what a strange location for a Immigration Office in a street full of GoGo's
)
-
I would be grateful if you could pass me the contact information for the agent you used. Thanks in advance...
The agent i was using is in Phuket only i presume that you are in Bangkok ?
Merijn. The OP is in Pattaya on Soi Siam Country Club, and I guess as this is the Pattaya forum, JimmyBKK is also locatedin Pattaya, or am I mistaken in asuming this ?
