  1. A friend of mine was checked last night at 4h45 AM on second road.

He told me that he saw police check-points for alcool the whole week and every nigths: pattaya Tai, 2nd road, 3rd road & pattaya Nua !

    Someone can confirm ?

what difference does it make, don't drink and drive period........I don't give a shit if you don't wear a helmet but when you drive while drunk you are endangering me and and everyone else - knock it on the head before you kill or seriosly injure someone

Hear, Hear. I only wish that they have those checkpoints on all major Sois and not just on the obvious ones ! This way it's too easy for them to dodge it (So many back roads) bah.gif

  2. Your router should have an option where you can see whoever is connected at any times and also keep a log of the connections, what model and make it is?

I keep mine open, as long as i don't get penalized by this, i don't have problem in sharing it, as at the end of the month the bill will always be the same....

Up2you if you keep it open, but when you get penalized because of it, it's too late to do anything about it.

  3. ...........

The MAC address can be spoofed.

Yes but you have to know what value will be accepted , and that is not so easy.

The standard value for most routers is 00:00:00:00:00:00, so it's wise to change that a More difficult value (Only numbers (0-9) and letters (A-F) accepted)

  4. Notification of staying over 90 days - present a TM 47, can also be done by mail...

cheesy.gif my friend is still waiting for cards he send (In February) to his new House in Soi SIam CC from BIG C Extra.

  5. Question: What is a 90-day renewal?

I believe people on retirement visa's have to go in and verify their address every 90 days in order to stay in the country.

All people who are on a extension of stay (1 Year) (Retirement, Marriage and other visas) have to do that.

  6. well raro i wish no ill feeling towards anyone i just hope you never have a accident and if you are drinking and driving don't be speeding.I don't know how much you drink but if it is less then what you would pay for taxies then either you must not drink to much therefore are never " pissed out of your mind "

or you get a lot of free drinks

    everyone just stay safe

Well, a beer at Leo's is 80 Baht, my bill hardly ever exceeds 500 Baht. Over the limit, but OK in my books.

    sent from my Android phone

Until you get stopped and have to take a Breathalyzer test

  7. wheww...thanks for the heads-up! Whereas it is possible to get a Baht bus in town to back home where I live, it is more or less impossible to get into town without your own ride. Around the darkside is no public transport whatsoever so no chance to go to a pub and get home unless you drive by yourself...

I would imagine it would still be wise to just leave one's car/bike in town for the nite and retrieve it the next day. Of course, there is also the option of just sleeping it off in town as short-time hotels/rooms are available all around town (some of the Thai market ones quite plush...uhem or so I have heard) for a few hundred baht for a few hours to 500-600 for the nite.

that's a very good advice, but most people (that drink and drive) don't want to spend any money on Taxi Drivers or cheap hotel rooms they want to keep their money in their pockets (because they think it's a waste). And when they are too intoxicated that they don't care anymore about the consequences, they just take their bikes / cars / whatever and head on home. When they get home safely without getting caught or causing an accident, they say: "You see, I'm a good driver even when I'm intoxicated, so I can do the same again next time when I go out for a Drink."

  8. Thanks for the replies.

I looked for a shops list but the web site does not really seem to list them - at least I could not see any in English.

    ....

The AIS shops in Sri Racha and Rayong are the only ones in the link I posted, just feed that in to Google Translate.

After you done that, you will get this.

    Chon Buri

21-23 City Road, Sriracha, Sriracha, Sriracha, Chonburi 20100 2.

Hours: Monday - Sunday 9:30 to 18:00 pm (closed holidays).

    Rayong

550/7 Sukhumvit Road, the Phra Muang Rayong 21000.

Hours: Monday - Saturday 9:30 to 18:00 pm (Sunday) (Closed on public holidays).

  9. Thank you. I remember now that is possible with online banking. I had been looking for a place on the TrueMove site to do that.

However now I am still uncertain how can I purchase a package (I want unlimited internet) without a cell phone (dialing). Thanks.

I think the only way is put the sim in a phone and dial a Code (but this just guessing), maybe you can call the True Helpdesk ?

    Edit: //

I am looking for you on the True Website, but it seems that they have updated their website, and the English Language Button is not working on many of the Pages.

    Can you send sms's ??

According to this page: http://www3.truecorp...ackagedetail/79 you can subscribe packages by sending an SMS (with the package number) to 9789

Another simple solution would be, find the code for the package you want, go to a Phone Shop ask them to borrow a 3G phone (maybe the sim even works in a normal (no 3G phone) ) and punch in the codes and press send. wink.png
