  1. Just about a daily news item....cops behaving badly! No-one seems to care!
  2. Most places, it's illegal to leave the keys in the vehicle....but everywhere you go, Thais leave their vehicles running...Keeps the car cool....but bikes??
  3. Mmmm....the tow rope snapped?......Maintenance is expensive....anyway..it's just a rope and should be fine....I'll let the boss know:)
  4. That's actually how these travelers operate. They hoist the segments into position, then push the stressing strands through ducts, tension these strands and grout everything. The operation would likely take 7 days at least, to complete
  5. Bloody illegal immigrants! Not bad on the barbie though:)
  6. A catastrophe is what it is! This looks like a "traveller" has collapsed....the truss structure that lifts the segments from the road level off trucks. Unbelievable that at this stage in this nightmarish project, that such a disaster could happen! As #SHA 2 BKK states....much of the roadway now is badly in need of repair.....so many overloaded trucks and very narrow lanes, make this 40 kms a scary drive!
  7. "transparency of the investigation amid public concerns of a potential cover-up, given the case’s high profile." This case will now take much longer to close.....
  8. “Officers must adhere to ethical standards"
  9. Maybe by 2027 at earliest......
  10. I made the stupid mistake on using cement roofing....absolute and utter crap! Most of the color came off, many of the roof pieces have cracks...impossible to walk on and really should be banned. That this died after falling through is not the least surprising....it's like walking on egg shells!
  11. Probably warranted if the Tuk Tuk was in BKK....those guy are mafia deluxe!
  12. And 5 years down the road to submarines....and a feasibility study to be carried out! What!
  13. How many of these incidents are there....I see workers under a raised truck bin and have never seen any of the using an emergency prop in case of failure. Many countries have these as standard on tip trucks now.....but not Thailand...that would add $10 bucks to the vehicle price!
  14. Again....education should start at home, not that Thais could teach much about road safety. Road safety education appears to be non existent in Thailand!
  15. There's a whole lot of fires lately...old factories and warehouses going up all over:)
  16. Resting under a freakin' low loader....which very likely had the engine running! Education is important!!
  17. ASEANNOW seems to be turning into a death notice column....!
  18. Smart move by this buyer:)) Superstition is rife here and Thais/Chinese would never go near them...these unwanted houses are likely very cheap!
  19. Why haven't the cops charged the Russian....?
  20. Ghosts involved in this one....!
  21. Another complete load of nonsense....written as though this stuff is a new threat to the beautiful family resort of Pattaya!
  22. While the back-handers continue...so will so called illegal businesses!
  23. Thai "electricians" most always, from what I've seen, use the thinnest (1mm) wire for just about everything.. Used in standard lighting, not large floodlighting etc, it is usually ok.....but they use it for all the power service as well...it's cheaper!
  24. Of course they're safe....the earlier examples of high contaminant levels was not real.....besides, there's too much money involved and the Chinese won't be happy!
  25. Thai males have some serious issues....their use of violence first, is open for all to see....they frenzy at the slightest moment. But then...look at Thai soapies and adverts....there's always shouting and screaming going on...I guess that's the norm maybe?
