  1. Lets see, he knew smoking dope was illegal in Thailand so he bought it anyway so he could smoke it.......well lets hope they throw him in the Bkk Hilton for the short time of say 10 years. That should break that school boy dope smoker from the habit. Yea that Policeman was wrong, he should throw him under the jail.

  2. Actually know some one with a vietnam true vision box , cost bht10,000 and the whole range of true vision packages for free after buying the box , just have to buy a dish apparently.

Do you know where we can get a Vietnam True Vision Box in Thailand ?

Does it also require one of those plastic "chip on a card" type keys for it to work?

    satthai.tv is the link

Not TrueVisions. Its VTV which are in with CANAL from France. TrueVisions is crap even if it is free

Gosh do they think they can compete with DTV and IPM TV for normal Thai's?

Also their price appears to be in the TrueVision range and thats has proven to be too high a price. Most Truevision dishs you see are FREEVIEW packages.

Also there are gray market guys selling Vietnam Sat TV with a few HD channels for like B600 a month and lots of HD channels for less than B800 per month. Do these guys really think they can compete........looks like the planned viewers are about 10 times more than they will have to me.

Not a Vietnam True Vision box. Really VTV from Vietnam which has nothing to do with TrueVision-Thank God ha ha. Fewer channels than True Vision but what they have are higher quality and the price is cheaper but you do have to buy a box for like B11,000 then make payment in 1 year periods. I have had it 2 years now and like it much better than TrueTrash eh I mean True Visions.

  4. Yes great advice , I never thought of that . They have a large vacant residential block in town I dont know what a rai is but it looks to be about 2 acres to me . Ten minutes drive from Nong Khai City! thats the one i got my eye on. We allways planned to build a holiday house on it and retire there in years to come. Better get it in my wifes name ASAP before mum dies and her brothers fight over it ! I guess I have allready paid for it ! 30k should secure the deal and they dont have to pay me back !

We are going there for a holiday in a few weeks! I hope that her mum dont think i dont trust her by asking for the land ! I dont care about the rice farms and the house anyway! ]

Thanks guys for the great advice ! now i feel better i hope they go along with it.

    2.5 rai equal 1 acre

  5. I don't get all the paranoia about the taxi booths and their taxis- i come in and out of Swampy 2-3 times per month and always use the taxi booth system, never had any problems at all.

I used to think the same, but the last 2 times I took a taxi from Swampy to the Asoke area, the meters were definitely rigged. It's a 220-250 baht ride, but these meters came in at 400 and 450 baht- and traffic wasn't anywhere near bad enough to explain the discrepancy.

most of the taxis at the airport taxi rank have had their meters rigged. i have taken three taxis from the rank to my house, and the fares were 800, 900 and 500 baht, excluding the toll fare. now i always get taxis outside departures, and have always got the 500 baht fare. when i was in the taxi from the rank, i was watching the meter and it definitely increments faster.

Well I have never seen a rigged taxi meter and I was in Thailand before they had metered taxis but I am sure there are some rigged. If I was in a taxi and saw the rate of increase seemed to be too high I would tell the driver and pay up there and get out. I think rigged meters are rare. I would also report a rigged taxi meter but as you know maybe nothing would be done about it

  6. Kurt Davit sounds truly British more American or German with Indian I would say, and the same about Heaton John Alexander (who the hell calls their son Heaton, bet he was popular at school).

But who cares, just send them to the Hilton and let them survive there.

I agree, a nice long 40 year stay at the Bkk Hilton surrounded by Mars Bar Creek does wonders for their self esteem. ha ha Throw the book at the clown.

  7. So does it mean there wont be any more fast track for Biz and 1st class passenger during rush hours ? but all planes from Europe usually arrived at the same period of time from 6 to 7am .... so , you pay your ticket more than double and you have to queue like anyone else ?

You paid for a nicer seat on the plane and better food. No reason you should get preferential treatment from immigration at the airport.

Most airlines let Freq Flyers use that 1st class Fast Track line also

  8. I'd be more concerned about having the ground mineral rights sold out from under (literally) - the site is just down the road from my house and there are a lot of brand new residential moobaans in this area. Between Sai2 and Sai4 is a protected area with no factories or buildings over 8 stories - it would be interesting if the oil extends under the protected park at Sai4...

Mineral rights do not belong to the land owner in Thailand. The mineral rights belong to the government.
