  1. Not sure about that.... starting to see them around..... well to be more exact hear them! You know how they have to shout to each other at a 2 foot distance!
  2. Back to my original comment.... I needed something to move all the meat through... was getting awful cramps.
  3. They do have the same rules.... The Embassy has to issue a verification of income (actually pension) letter, or have 800k in the bank, or show 65,000 baht into a Thai Bank each month for a retirement extension! Many years ago, one simply could show evidence of income..... from whatever source it came, then a later requirement of the Embassy verifying this income came in. A subsequent request by immigration that Embassies really verify this income, not simply do stat decs or affidavit (which do not verify anything) subsequently caused few Embassies (UK, USA, Oz and Denmark) to balk, and stop their verification letter service. Personally I think they should make everyone have the 800,000 baht in the bank... but it would be bad situation to preclude people living on pensions without savings.
  4. When I was doing a job in Argentina, vegetables were scarce, it was meat meat and more meat... I certainly did not have the runs......
  5. Examples of this discrimination? By the way, surely European Expats are also Western? The proof of income, by showing money coming into a Thai bank account (65,000/mo), was an accommodation by Thai immigration for those Expats on Retirement Extensions whose embassies refused to issue income verification. Why should the other countries have their requirements changed ,because of the actions of other countries authorities?
  6. I suspect many police officers would not know what it was. Just keep copies of passport and extension/whatever on your phone... this is being accepted.
  7. My Mrs found a place on The Railway Line Bypass Rd that would do our sick cat.....rather than a quick OD jab of whatever, they set up an IV. Jeez I was upset!
  8. There is in some 'books'... I always recall an article in the Kaleej Times, A man had been caught at it with a goat....he got jailed, the poor goat got slaughtered, and it's meat was declared 'haram'/ forbidden.
  9. Biologically I think it s a fruit.... but I expect it deals with the constipation concerns.
  10. I grasp this, but was the land sold on, are the owners new guys is what I asked, and I am reading they are not!
  11. You do not know what you are talking about.......it was the decision of the UK, USA and Australian Embassies to stop issuing income verification letters...(It was formerly a Stat Dec for Ozzies, for USA guys an affidavit). Source. Thailand did not impose this selectively. You are in error.
  12. Might depend who the new owners are..... I would like to think not the same ones! Although things seem to have happened rather too quickly.....
  13. Isn't mandatory drug tests standard for some employment categories in the USA say?
  14. You should read what you post.... I grasp the topic is about USA, but you want Thailand to make USA specific requirements.... ?
  15. We had one in our village who used to get on the microphone who certainly did..... fortunately he seems to have moved on.
  16. A strange time of year to stop the service for 'equipment upgrade'.....they sure are having a battle. Thanks for your post.
  17. Alcohol is not the topic under discussion... so no need to divert. Thailand appears to have got ahead of itself here.. and I really don't see them getting this genie back in the bottle. Might as well get going with a taxation structure.
  18. I have always got a patch towards the North end of the beach. Bring some mats..... A bit too busy and noisy in the central area.
  19. They have never really coped.
  20. It is a long way for everyone to go...... protesters too I think!
